Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump is leading presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton by 11 points with Independents, 38 percent to 27 percent, according to a new Morning Consult poll. But hes still down by two points in a head-to-head match up, 41 percent to 39 percent.

Hope so because personally, this don’t look good. He is running against a woman who was just exposed as much as anyone could be exposed as an extremely corrupt and above the law politician not to mention a liar. I would THINK that would have been enough to sink her to the single digits, I mean hello her husband meets Lynch and *poof* no indictment despite her clearly being guilty.....and she is neck and neck with Trump? Come again? I hate to think of where she would be if these email crimes never happened. PLUS her 10 billion other scandals, why isn’t this woman being slaughtered? It’s like Trump is running against Sante Kimes and every one knows she is Sante Kimes, career criminal, grifter, con artist and they don’t care!!! Either THAT or Trump is just really really effing up big time!! You have to figure, 3 months time in league with the press, all these scandals of Hillarys could be forgotten or the public just is sick of it and she could win! And then this country will be finished. Trump better get his ass in gear because I’m not seeing him winning this. Remember: Hillary doesn’t have to debate him. If she has a lead in the polls, she won’t need to and he will not get that opportunity to directly confront her in front of the public.
Your pessimism is understandable. A couple of reasons that decide people for Democrat (Hilary or anyone) are 1) A woman’s right to choose an abortion; and 2) Fear of the Religious Right. A third issue which probably is more important to young people who haven’t paid taxes yet is anti-big business or anti-capitalism. This last issue has been propagandized to every school child , probably in every country in the world. Sad. It’s been going on since early 1900’s and the Progressives got traction in America’s public schools in the 1920’s with the robber baron theme. Sad, but true. Invariably, new immigrants (like my own grandparents who never took a dime from government though impoverished) believe Republicans are fat cats who look down on the poor. Sad. We’ll see if the destruction of that American Love of Freedom, Tolerance, Individualism has been extinguished for good or if Trump can ignite its flame one last time. I’m voting against my own conscience on points 1 and 2, because without Free Speech and Respect for Law, we will descend swiftly into a totalitarian dictatorship. Sad. But true.
See the http://www.womencanstoptrump.com/ site and think about it.

Actually, I’ve learned not to click on every HTML link I see. Instead I investigated it a little. This is from the organization that ‘launched’ the site you linked to me.
“EMILYs List, the nations largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $400 million to support pro-choice Democratic women candidates making it one of the most successful political organizations ever. We recruit and train candidates, support strong campaigns, research women’s issues, and turn out women voters. We’ve trained over 9,000 women to run and helped elect over 100 women to the House, 19 to the Senate, 11 governors, and over 700 to state and local office. Since its founding in 1985, almost one-third of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color - including every single Latina, African American, and Asian American Democratic congresswoman currently serving.”

Right, it’s just good to be aware of the agenda they’re pushing. There are women who LOVE Trump, for all the right reasons they’d love a good President, and these others are the ones who for some reason think he’d be bad for women.
Many women are one issue voters re: the abortion issue. It’s been this way for a very long time. I am an Independent woman who is voting for Trump but not because of his current stand on abortion. Even though some believe women are murderers if they decide to terminate a pregnancy, some, who are just as religious as anybody else, disagree. Reasonable men can disagree. Republicans may lose on this one issue, period. I’ve been saying this since joining FR a zillion years ago. Rarely bring it up anymore out of respect for JimRob, the owner here.
Romney only won independents by 5 points. Trump has more than double that. Hillary isn’t Obama and there is no way in hell she is going to have turnout like Obama did in either 2008 or 2012. Its just not going to happen. Hillary is also the defacto incumbent. Undecided voters never break for the incumbent in this kind of election. It just doesn’t happen. Trump is going to crush Hillary.
