If the alleged dead suspect was a so-called nazi nationalist, I bet they would have told us by now and for the next 6 weeks 24/7. If there is indeed a dead suspect, then the ID release is being intentionally delayed, in my opinion.

German officialdom is openly committed to ignoring or downplaying any Muslim connections to terrorism or crime. Hell, they even persecute their citizens who dare to discuss such topics online.

Let’s all remember the massive cover-up of “rapefugee” assaults on 1000+ women in Cologne on New Year’s Eve.

Merkel will be frantic to avoid any connection of this attack to jihadists. Let’s hope the local authorities are not totally corrupt. Bavaria is the more conservative part of Germany, so maybe they aren’t as subject to Merkel’s whims, I don’t know.

This link reports that the police have recovered a car they think belonged to the shooter, so if they have any reason to know that then they must know who they are dealing with. They are being rather slow to release info:

I think the posting time came off an east coast twitter feed so it was only 45 min. ago. Not certain but that’s how it appears to me at the moment. Yes, it is really late in Munich so there may not be much more info before morning. They’d better keep working the case HARD, though!

They say they think they have his car (see my link at #672) so they must know who they think they are dealing with. I think these announcements are all in the past hour, not from many hours ago. I’ve been following Twitter and a variety of news sites pretty steadily, and stuff about the dead perp and the car only came out recently. Still no name or ID announced, though.....

yes, and if it looked like some neo-Nazi they would get that info out FAST. German officials are desperate to tamp down any anti Muslim or anti immigrant sentiments.

The fact that they seem to be holding back the ID makes it far more likely that this is jihad related, as the CNN witness statement clearly clearly indicated.
