Ayotte down 10 in latest New Hampshire poll (she'll blame Trump, but her voting record is pathetic!)

Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) is trailing her Democratic rival, Gov. Maggie Hassan, by 10 points in what has been one of the tightest Senate races in the country, according to a new poll from WBUR Radio.

The poll, which was conducted between July 19 and Aug. 1, shows 50 percent of respondents saying they would vote for Hassan if the election were held today, compared with 40 percent for Ayotte. Ayotte is one of the most vulnerable GOP senators up for reelection in a year in which Republicans can afford to lose only three seats if they hope to maintain control of the Senate.

The boost for Hassan also mirrors the surging popularity of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire. Clinton leads Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump 47 to 32 in the state, according to the same poll. Her favorability rating also climbed to 45 percent from 35 percent in May. Meanwhile, Trump’s favorability fell from 33 to 29 percent.

Democrats were happy to blame Trump for Ayotte’s decline. Ayotte has long said she will vote for the GOP nominee, despite criticizing Trump for his feud with the parents of Army Capt. Humayun Khan, who was killed in Iraq in 2004. Trump responded by bashing her as a weak and disloyal leader, comments that have not dissuaded Ayotte from backing him, according to aides.

NH is surrounded by the three filthiest states. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that it finally caught the Marxist virus. The only things to follow are for the state to get an income tax,a sales tax and lots and lot of “sensible” gun laws (none of which they have yet).

No, I’m not. If you think McCain and Ayotte will HELP Trump, you are sadly mistaken.

First things first. We need to get the RINOs out. It is far easier to defeat a Dem in office-—as Rob Portman showed in OH in 2012-—than it is to remove a RINO who has held the seat forever.

If Trump wins, people like Ayotte will not only backstab at every opportunity, but will constantly leak to the press to undercut a Trump presidency. I’d rather fight enemies who at least call themselves enemies.

These people “use” the tea party platform to get elected. Then, for some reason, they think they don’t need those voters to get re-elected.

So, you want Trump to win, and face a bunch of new, liberal Dems in the Dem Senate majority?

Trump gains nothing with a McCain and Ayotte loss.

And it’s far harder to get a Dem out if he/she is an incumbent.

Trump has let his pride get in the way of good judgement.

A senate without Ayotte and her buddy McCain will be a more conservative senate!!

Maggie Hassan is more conservative? Ayotte is unopposed in the Republican primary. It's her or Hassan. That's it. She may be a RINO but even a RINO counts towards determining which party is the majority party in the Senate.

I don't see how we keep the US Senate. Even with a majority, we don't have one. Sasse and Flake aren't up for election, and they're disgusting traitors to Republicans.

President Trump is going to have to set up a new across-the-political-spectrum coalition to have a majority in the US Senate. That means they'll be useless for social issues.

Just keepin' it real.

Ayotte is a total RINO but I hate to lose that senate seat.

Trump is going to face liberal Dems and an anti-Trump “majority” whether McCain/Ayotte or some Dems win.

You aren’t getting it.

We got the Dem Senator out in one term in OH. It’s quite possible.

“New Hampshire loves Trump. She should have stood with the people. She can’t blame Trump because she stood against him.”

NH loves Trump and hates Ayotte. That’s why this same poll has Ayotte running seven points ahead of Trump.

In Pennsylvania Tomey is running 10 points ahead of Trump.

If Trump can just not get wiped out we should keep the senate. If he becomes Barry Goldwater, we’ll lose nine seats.

The Donk is even worse that Mccain, she was likely to lose her house seat, which is why she is running for senate.

Ayotte is down 10 points in this poll and Trump is down 15 points in this poll...and your argument is that Ayotte is in trouble because she doesn’t support Trump enough?

Indeed, there is absolutely no difference. For example, Harry Reid and the Democrats would have halted the acceleration of confirmations of Obama’s ultra liberal judicial appointments and would have also blocked the confirmation of his appointee to the Supreme Court to replace Scalia just like the Republicans did. No difference whatsoever. They would have used a procedural gimmick to block gun control legislation just like the Republicans did. They would have finally went ahead and passed a bill and sent it to Obama’s desk to repeal Obamacare just like the Republicans did. And on, and on, and on - no difference whatsoever!
