Mark it is difficult to respond to your thoughtful, heartfelt, tearful post. I am not one of your close FRiends here but do know your name and your posts.
Your courageous sharing of the twilight time is so admirable. I care about folk here (even the ornery ones) and don’t wish anyone harm. Death is part of life unfortunately and most of our special people leave much sooner than we would desire - no matter how old or infirm.
It is wonderful to know you are at Peace in this life and with your salvation confident.
Those of us in the faith know there will be reunions.. even with those we never actually met in this life.
Praying for God to give us a miracle in your life but also praying that your strong spirit will prevail and that your family and closest friends will offer love and strength as you are in this phase of life

You did good. Wrote the kind of opus that makes everyone hope you stick around instead of leaving! I admire your courage. Maybe you won’t get to see what happens next, but that’s the advantage of age: at some point, you just don’t need to know the rest of the story—leave that to the young. For now, I wish you peace of mind, a comfortable place to rest, loved ones close by.

Speaking selfishly, I hate to say goodbye.
These last few years have been goodbye years for me, to friends, family, puppies and parents and I just don't like having to say good bye.
None the less, goodbyes offer parting gifts, too, and it was a blessing to have been able to hang out with my mom in God's waiting room for a few years until her departure flight arrived.
I had read that our graduation day is the very best day of all, at least for the good students here in schoolhouse earth, and I now believe it.
So, in that spirit, I'd rather celebrate your success and wish you well in all of your future endeavors back home!
I've heard it said about life that we ain't getting out this thing alive.
While I understand the humor, we know that's not true for everyone. Some escape from this schoolhouse earth matrix to freedom and life everlasting!
As someone who was left behind, again and again lately, I will be happy for you and sad for those of us who you, who travel on ahead before us, will temporarily leave behind.
In case I forget to ask you, if you get a chance, please send us a postcard from the other side.

Mark I am so sorry to read this post. I have enjoyed your posts for a long time.
I guess my sadness is for those of us left behind. You will be fine! I share with you a picture the Lord gave to me as I traveled to be with my father as he left this world.
I heard the Lord say “He’s hatching”. Whaaat? I instantly had a picture in my head of a chick in the shell just moments before hatching. It is alive. It breaths, moves, receives nourishment, has eyes and beak and wings and feet that all work perfectly. It is fully alive. And yet, when it casts off its shell, its real life begins.... sunshine on its back, air to smell, bugs to chase, seeds to eat, puddles to run through and oh what colors!
Hatch joyfully my friend. And if you are greeted by a redheaded young man with a huge smile and a bigger laugh, that would be my son Chris. Hug him for me.

All is not lost...my brother in law lasted 5 years after being diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer.
There are amazing treatments out there, and as long as you are still alive, there is the chance of getting more time.
But I understand the fatalism, because it is terminal. But if you can get a few more good years take what is possible, and be grateful.
