President Barack Obama isnt afraid to enact his agenda over the will of Congress. At this late stage in his presidency, hes still overreaching his authority to push through an agenda; his most recent overstep being an effort to unilaterally raise the federal estate tax.
Conservatives have successfully lessened the impact of the estate tax, colloquially known as the death tax, in recent years. In 2000, before George W. Bush became president, the death tax had a rate of 55 percent and struck families with assets valued at $675,000 or more.

Yes it did and FDR probated it and all their powers were inherited by the executive branch of government. Though that will has been disputed off and on ever since.
“Your parents should hire you to administer it for $100,000 and then deduct your salary, for a savings of at least $10,000. I’ve heard it can be done!”
Us kids are the beneficiaries of the trust. My sister is handling investments and payments. But a team of lawyers updates the trust to comply with new laws which change constantly. The trust is amended practically every year. I don’t know the legalities, but if you are too closely associated with the trust apparently the IRS can nullify the trust and say it is really your money as you control it and therefore additional taxes apply.
This is off-topic, but the Clinton Foundation, like a trust, is not supposed to be used as your personal checking account. Yet, I read the Clinton’s wrote a check from their foundation to pay for their New York house.
How about a retroactive 99% tax on all speaking fee income?
Under Bush a law was passed gradually decreasing the death tax to zero for one year. Then it went back up.
Yep, just that one year.
Actually, valuation discounts have been hotly litigated in tax court for quite some time and, not surprisingly, have generally not resulted in favorable rulings for individuals and families.
Yes, George Steinbrenner picked the perfect time to die. His family benefited greatly from the filing of his demise.
“How about a retroactive 99% tax on all speaking fee income?”
If we are discussing the Clinton’s, then RICO should be enough to take every cent they have. Not only that, but the money Chelsea “earned” was part of an extortion or pay for play racket. The IRS should be able to seize her eleven million dollar apartment. I love how she said that money was irrelevant and she never spent any time thinking about it. I usually differ any spending not related to my immediate needs.
Since when does the Executive branch have authority to change the tax laws? Only Congress can do that.
Note: If you stack a trillion-worth of $1000 bills together, then: 1 million dollars = 4 inches high. 1 billion dollars = 364 feet high. 1 trillion dollars = 63 miles high. So 19 trillion dollars would be 1197 Miles High!
This is greater than the distance from Washington DC to New Orleans, LA!
His felony counts are almost as high as Hillary’s.
I believe any would be politician whose income to include any asset or assets, like the Clinton foundation, that has funds, land, or any asset from a foreign source should be barred from office.
Unless of course it is a Democrat family like the Kennedys.
This obsession with wealth is a peculiar hypocrisy for Democrats in Congress.
They get on their soap box during campaigns and screech about the wealthy business people stealing from the poor and working people. Then back in Washington they use their exemption from insider trading law to rapidly accumulate wealth by the means of activities that would send anyone else to jail and have their wealth seized by the government.
The richest people in congress are Democrats and for the most part they all became rich only after being elected to congress.
the untouchable wealth will remain untouchable....
glad I don't have to worry about this...:(
....gonna have to do a bug sweep to in the WH....electronic ones too
Congress has NO will, nor any spine either!
The Regulator-in-Chief / Dictator-in-Chief is at it again!

Add fumigation to that list.
