Secure Voting Solution Unites Bitcoin Blockchain and Paper Ballots

Bitcoin ATM-developer and blockchain-tech firm Blockchain Technologies Corp (BTC) has revealed that it is developing a tamper-resistant voting machine dubbed “VoteWatcher.”

New York-based Blockchain Technologies Corp., a blockchain- and bitcoin-centric firm and startup accelerator has revealed that it is currently working on a blockchain voting machine that it deems will be “tamper-resistant”.

The machine, dubbed “VoteWatcher”, is aimed at ensuring two core functionalities of a voting process. According to the firm, they are: •To ensure that the voting machine correctly captures the voter’s intent. •To safeguard voters’ trust that their votes are being counted correctly.

While advances in voting technology have seen paperless voting stations, with its critics, have existed since the turn of the millennium, Blockchain Technologies Corp., is bringing back paper in its solution for a tamper-proof voting system.

Paper ballots are “the only way to ensure a secure and accurate election”, read the announcement from the industry firm.

“What happens when non-technical people want to audit an election conducted using paperless electronic voting machines?” argued Nick Spanos, Blockchain Technologies Corp CEO.

He added:

"All you can audit is the code the machine used to calculate the results. There is no original record of the votes cast. Paper ballots are the only way to do a real re-count for the general public."

Pillaring paper ballots as the “foundation” of its VoteWatcher system, the process will see paper ballots fed through a scanner which will record voters’ choices during the vote. The scanned data, along with a hash of the ballot’s image is then uploaded to the blockchain to safeguard it from tampering.

While underlining that the bitcoin blockchain brings about a “whole new paradigm of data integrity”, the company adds that original paper ballots turned in by voters will ultimately remain the document of record in the event of a recount.

Blockchain technologies Corp has experience in providing solutions for elections, having conducted them at Libertarian Party state conventions in Texas and New York, with success.

According to previous reports, the company plans on completing at least one of its voting solutions, dubbed VoteUnit, before the 2016 presidential elections.

Maybe this technology will help put a stop to Democrats stealing elections?

If it is not ready to go and purchased and installed quickly, it’ll be too late to save this election. Early voting is starting 9-26-16.

I figure that the Republicans have to be polling 10 points ahead to win in Nov.

Absentee Ballots are the secret backdoor which needs to be addressed.
Ultra Blue State voters voting in Purple States.
It doesn’t take too many to swing an election.

Doubtful.. Rats stole elections before there were electronic voting machines. This just scans paper ballots; fake those and you get the same theft.

Agree. We should at least go to paper ballots for this election - you know, since we're soooo worried about the Russian hackers, and all...

Better that, than JJ and his DHS running our election process this year.

You guys make it sounds like Trump, Rudy, Christie et al. are delicate little flowers who NEVER heard nor thought of voter fraud happening.

They’re not. i dont have privileged information about what they’re going to make the playing field even, but NO WAY Rudy OR Trump isn’t countering on this behind the scenes.

And let’s not play the innocent card like states with a republican legislature or governor are ALL 100 percent honest and boyscouts.

Plus there might be a few other interests helping us out to make sure it is fair.

These aren’t PC Gentleman running. These are streetfighters, one of whom took down much of NYC’s mafia.

I’m not sweating it.

What’s needed is a way for a person to check their own record using a secret code. That way, a person or persons could spot check the accuracy of the final vote.

Blockchain would solidify our voting process end-to-end. Blockchain involves creation of a universal register that is published and accessible by every node in the chain. This means that at no point could someone change a vote, for instance, without changing it on every single node in the chain. The number of nodes in a chain is so incredibly large that this would prove to be impossible without quantum computing.

This is a great idea. Problem is that we’re too close to the elections to vet this sort of solution.

I have never seen in this forum in the last couple days a few “Debbie Downers” here and there. They test my patience BIG TIME.

And if Hitlery steals this election, we won’t need to worry about future elections - there won’t be any.

There are also organizations such “True The Vote” to name a few that will be working very hard this election season.

There is ALWAYS someone who is smarter, MUCH smarter than the "smartest" person in the food chain. S/he usually doesn't ever meet his/her match.

Besides, those who will "steal" anything are terribly flawed. They WILL meet their Maker someday. It won't be pretty.
