Remember the chaos caused by the Beltway snipers? That was just two guys. Several hundred meanies could shut down DC without targeting innocents.

The whole point of the 2A is so Americans can forcefully respond to others who have declared war on them, whether at the macro (governmental tyranny or foreign invasion tyranny) or the micro (criminal thug tyranny) level.
But he does have a point, that the critical problem is there are millions of final straws when there should only be one final straw in order to respond effectively and en masse. If 10 million 2A supporters all converged on DC simultaneously would be one thing. If only a few hundred did so would be laughed at and ridiculed.
The law of unintended consequences could well be in play in this scenario. As soon as they announce people need to start turning in their guns, there may be a lot of incidents perpetrated against those behind this and their underlings, even before the turn-ins begin.
One thing’s for sure: Our Founders would’ve never stood for such involuntary weapons turn-ins. They’re spinning in their graves that liberty is so unimportant to us.
My kids are homeschooled. And we have lawyers on speed dial. This whole scenario is garbage.
They know who has guns but NSA surveillance? HAH! Big Effing Deal. I can tell you who has them. Almost everyone! Over half the people in the country. So what good does snooping to figure that out do? Pick up kids at school? What the Eff does this writer live? In NV that would mean they would have to round up every kid at ever school in the whole darn state. Yeah that is going to work. Hell the highschool kids plus their trucks in the parking lot of ONE highschool in my county probably out number and out gun ever law enforcement organization in the whole county. And that is rural. Think this will work in the inner city? Soon as the first kid cellphones that they are getting picked up at school all the gangbanger baby daddies in the getto will BURN THE WHOLE CITY DOWN. They might be piss poor parents but they will not take the ‘disrespect’.

Consider 1% of 1% of 1% of firearms owners, roughly 100 people, skilled and motivated, going Christopher Dorner or John Allen Muhammed, at the same time.
And not stupid enough to get caught, and not stupid enough to harm random innocents.
A large percentage of those assigned to confiscate the weapons will resign and join the resistance. More than one governor will defy orders and give legitimacy to armed resistance. It would be very ugly. I would not want to be one assigned to confiscate. You would live in constant fear of the 300 yard shot.
