Suffolk University Poll Shows a Statistical Tie in Florida (Trump up 45%-44%)

Republican Donald Trump has a razor-thin 1-point lead over Hillary Clinton in Florida—a statistical tie and a reversal from last month—according to a new Suffolk University poll of likely general-election voters in a state some consider the tipping point for the 2016 presidential election.

Trump (45 percent) led Clinton (44 percent) with Libertarian Gary Johnson at 3 percent, the Green Party’s Jill Stein at 1 percent, and 7 percent undecided. Six candidates for president are listed on the Florida ballot, including Darrell Castle of the Constitution Party and Roque De La Fuente of the Reform Party, neither of whom received support in the poll.

In a Suffolk University poll taken in early August, Clinton held a 4-point lead in a four-way ballot test that included Johnson and Stein and led Trump by 6 points in a head-to-head matchup.

Puerto Ricans are American citizens with as much right to move to Florida as, say, Minnesotans. Illegal immigration threatens their livelihood as much as anyone born in the 50 states.

I too have noticed NM merely leaning Democrat based on the multi-state tracking polls that are out there. I suspect both campaigns have polled the state, and their lack of interest reveals something.

Regarding ME, we may get 3 EVs from the state, but short of a landslide we won’t get all of it.

I never questioned the US citizenship of Puerto Ricans.

With the dead and the Snowbird votes I am uncomfortable when the polls are this close.

Florida is solidly Trump, any poll showing it close is manipulating something.

At this point, at BEST Hillary is 1 small state away, NH or CO or something from losing... and honestly she’s already lost it... but I will humor the propagandists, and say she still has a slight EC lead...

What makes this interesting is, on RCP’s “no tossup” map, this brings Trump to 266 EVs. Her Infernal Malevolence must be doing some serious sweating right now.

Florida is not a state Trump should worry about. The Southern-oriented Panhandle and North Florida are strong areas for Trump, and there is a large contingent of non-Jewish white people from the Northeast, in other words, Trump’s own kind. Add in the Miami Cubans and it is highly probable Trump will win there. The governor and attorney general are both Republicans and strong Trump supporters, who will see to it that South Florida Democrats don’t go overboard on fraud.

Don’t count your FL chickens before they hatch. Miami-Dade is 61% FOREIGN born. Trump can win here but is going to be a BRAWL.

I appreciate your insights. I don’t know about all of ME because of Cumberland County. 3 ev’s could happen. ME and NH are two states that a thousand people on the ground would insure wins.

These polls are funny. They only measure mindless fools that answer the telephone in the age of caller ID. What kind of people are they that would be bothered? Are the bored or just dim witted. We get them all the time. When we don’t help them make their money, they have a loud dial tone loaded into our answer machine. It is so bad that I replaced our recording with a loud dial tone so they hear that first. I truly hate the bastards and think it should be jail time to retaliate with their dial tone. NEVER TALK TO THEM. They could be ISIS!!

People in Florida understand the concept of WALL;;; Florida will go for Trump unless there's massive fraud...(Pubblies: hold back the ballot boxes that messes with their way of cheating...) Maybe so, but a good portion of the Miami-Dade population is Cuban, immigrant and second generation. I am sure Governor Scott and AG Bondi will use their offices to thwart fraud. Palm Beach and Broward Counties, with their large Jewish population, are worrisome, as was the case 16 years ago. Hopefully, Trump can cut into Democrat margins in this area, reducing the normal liberal majorities.

I think Trump is going to win handily in Florida. He’s only weak in Miami Dade which didn’t save Rubio and won’t save Clinton.
