There is a certain percentage of voters who (somehow) have not decided how to vote. Hillary has been telling these people that Trump is a maniac, a crazy man, a very dangerous person.... I think that all he had to do in this debate was to appear as if he belonged on the same stage as her. I think he definitely succeeded in doing that. He had the momentum coming into this debate and I do not see anything that happened tonight changing that. So it goes in the win column.

The momentum is all on Trump’s side. Hillary needed a spectacular knock down and missed every punch despite Holt’s best efforts to prop her up.

I agree with that assessment.

Frankly, all I talked about was Trump’s performance because that is what I really cared about. Regarding hillary, she said some really, REALLY boneheaded things that those in the middle will not take kindly to.

I’m also hoping he’s saving the good stuff for last.

Agree. He did rip her a new one in that she could not land even one punch.

Hillary will not do any better in the next debates than she did tonight. She’s used up all of her ammunition and Trump hasn’t even gotten started. He will get better; she will get worse. Trump will win the election. I’ve never felt more confident. He survived the worst thing they can throw at him: taxes, birther, etc. He has survived. She cannot survive the reality of her shitty record.

Good analysis.

Trump didn’t come across looking unhinged or crazy.

People can picture him sitting in the Oval Office.

As the front-runner, he could afford to be gracious and concede on points.

He looked presidential and in the end, that’s all that really matters.

“Kellyanne”

If Trump had just 10% of Kellyanne’s articulateness, mental organization, and debate savvy he would have done a lot better tonight. Hey, why isn’t Kellyanne running?

>>>Incognito mode in Chrome will let you vote early and often.

Thanks! I figured it was my ghostery that was stopping it or something...so I went to my backup browser (ie...the military makes me use it) to vote and it worked fine.

Yes, she needs to find a thread to her liking, like a thread at DU.

Hillary reminded people of slick politicians who all look and sound the same - they were turned off.

Trump didn’t give “perfect” answers but then he came across looking as human.

He wasn’t trying to be any one other than himself. It served him well tonight.

I agree, we need to look at the big picture not the tit for tat about the debate. Hillary is a better debater...>BUT>>>

A week from now what people will remember....

Hillary 30 failed years a politician with a smooth lying tongue.

Trump a businessman with common sense, gets results, says it like it is.

He did fine, but I think he needed to do better to put her away.

I think she won in the following sense: She not only didn't keel over, she kept on going strong, a big overcoming of expectations. She put him on the defensive more than he was able to do for her doing the first half of the debate, plus she looked steadier, and more articulate early on.

He came onto her fairly well during the second half, but at best he made it a draw.

Nothing is over, two more to go, but she can now regain momentum as long as she has no more health issues come up in front of the general public.

There's a long way to go, he has two more debates to do better, so who knows how this will end. I had hoped he would put her away, he didn't. I still think he's going to win, he hasn't even begun to run ads, and she did not score a fatal blow in any way shape or form.

The last forty plus days are going to be scary.

Hillary tactic is treat Donald like a forgiving mommy.

You've nailed it. That's exactly what she was doing.

If i got my hands on some of the people that bashed Trump tonight..well, I’m a God fearing peace loving man now who’s put his evil ways behind him.

And a lot of hillary/cruz/obama loving mother ####ers should be thanking their stars about that.

Laura was at the 2005 FR convention in Vegas as a speaker. She’s been around fighting the good fight.

I remember. Very impressive.

That was a fine week.
