I apologize for the vanity, but I got an email from the Candidate's Campaign today and I responded. I told them I was disgusted by the debate and I thought she bested him, then I sent him the below.

He blew several excellent chances to hit big fat hanging curve balls out of the park last night that I think frankly, would have destroyed her. And it never happened. I was able to script these answers in my head during the 2 minutes it took me to shave this morning so I cannot fathom why someone couldn't have prepared him for her attacks. I am referring specifically to these two incidents:
1) Essentially when she said "You borrowed $14M for your Father"....
Answer: "Yes, Hillary, you're right I did borrow money from my Father, except it was $1M and not $14M. Have you ever heard of the Small Business Lending Association Hillary? The SBLA grants start up loans to small businesses all the time. Many of the loans are far greater than $1M and there have been hundreds of thousands of these loans granted. And you know what? Most small businesses fail in less than 12 months. They take the loans, and they fail. I didn't fail! I took that money and built it into a billion dollar enterprise. I paid back my father and I laid the foundation for great success. When did it become the standard in this country to demonize entrepreneurial success?
2) Essentially when she said: "Maybe it's because you don't pay any taxes?" ......
Answer: "Well Hillary, I've spend X number of years of my life in business navigating a complex and abusive tax code. In order for my businesses to succeed, we use that code to our advantage. Yes, we do. But always in a legal way. We always follow the tax law and it's a series of laws that people like you have spent your entire career writing. Congress has created the monster that you claim I take advantage of. I've worked with it. I know where the loop holes are and I know how to fix it. I can be the change agent that levels the playing field for large and small taxpayers alike. Why should anyone expect anything different from you?
Maybe he choked? Maybe he was nervous? Granted, I wasn't coming up with this in front of millions of people, but good Lord, would these answers have been that hard to practice in advance?
Either he willingly didn't prepare or he doesn't have people around him capable of preparing him. And either of those things aren't good.
Finally, I closed my email to him saying: "Do better Mr. Trump, because this country cannot afford a Hillary Presidency.
I hope he listens.....
Good points. Expect to be called every name in the book, however.
You are not incorrect in your assessment.
I think he will review his performance and see that he left a lot on the table. This was, really, a warm-up. There are two more debates, and the voters will remember the final one far better than they will the first one, MSM notwithstanding. He certainly missed some choice opportunities for zingers. Another good one was Hillary’s reference to not abandoning our friends abroad, which should have immediately brought Benghazi to mind.
However, Trump still has two more debates to go, and he’ll have other chances to knock it out of the park. While it would have been satisfying to see him shut her down with one blow last night, I have to keep telling myself that this is not a sprint, and an unanswerable skewer about Benghazi and her many other scandals will carry a lot more weight in the final debate than it would have last night.
To your second point I would add ...
2.a - Not only is it a blatant lie that I don’t pay taxes, because the tax returns I HAVE published show that I’ve paid multiple millions in personal and business taxes, and multiple millions in property taxes.
2.b. Not only THAT, but I’ve personally created many thousands of jobs, contributing not only to the income of the workers, but also the employer’s share of SS and Medicare taxes.
2. c. Furthermore, I reinvest much, and sometimes all, of my profits into new projects, creating even more jobs.
2.d. My real estate projects not only contribute to the property tax coffers of the cities in which they are realized, but they also increase the property values around them, not only increasing the tax base, but also improving the neighborhoods.
2.e. So what have YOU done, Hillary, to genuinely improve the lot of so many thousands of workers, neighborhoods, and cities?
This crap about Trump not paying taxes — he pays a tremendous amount of Real Estate and Property taxes on all his properties. And, he’s created thousands of jobs, each one heavily taxed (additional costs and taxes amount to 20-30% above wages employee sees)
In my opinion, even a better response to the tax issue would be, “IRS audits my taxes every year and obviously my tax filings are legal because I am not in jail. Gauge me not by how much money I sent to politicians in Washington DC, who always waste most of it, but rather by how many real jobs my business created employing real people”.
I concur with you, his handlers need to prepare him better. Daily rallies are wonderful, but millions more watch the debates. I was at his rally in Everett, WA and it was a great experience, however there were may be 15,000 people at the rally. Yesterday upto 100 million watched the debate.
She set him up SO many times and he missed EVERY SINGLE OPPORTUNITY. He was on the defensive the whole night. Quite frankly, she handed him his ass.
I agree with you in that he did miss some good opportunities to set the record strait and show Hillary to be every bit as inaccurate as she’s accused him of being.
Trump did a good job overall, but I think he was trying to balance being on top of it with not being a total A-hole...the likeability factor that’s been beating him up. He shouldn’t compromise the points..just adjust the presentation..ie not flailing around in a temper tantrum. Acting like a knowing father and setting her strait on her lie bait is the key.
Exactly. Hillary blew all of her ammo in this debate - racist, sexist, taxes. What has she got left ?
And, I’m assuming that a good majority of the 100 million also voted for who they think won the debate. Guess who?
I turned it OFF! Frankly I couldn’t stand the sniffles and the screeching. It was more fun to watch the Diamondbacks crucify the Nationals..14 to 4.
"You're wrong Juan... Here's why...
When Hillary said her Email server was "a mistake" I would have said:
"No Hillary, it was *NOT* a mistake. It was a deliberate attempt to avoid public accountability for your activities as Secretary of State. You set up that server so no one could see what you were doing with the full intention of using it to assist in your corrupt dealings, because you are a corrupt individual that has always hidden your underhanded dealings from the public."
We now know that you were corruptly selling influence, and *THAT* is how you and Bill Clinton became so wealthy after you left the White House. "
On the "Birther" issue, I would have said:
"Hillary Clinton's campaign staff, led by Sidney Blumenthal deliberately started the rumor that Barack Obama was born in Kenya so as to disqualify him during the contentious Democrat Primary race.
"Hillary is the Source of that issue. She and her Staff started it, and she owns it."
People care more about her corruption and deceptiveness than they do about Trump's taxes or how he started his business. Everyone knows that Trump is a wheeler dealer and that presumption is simply baked into the cake. Nobody cares about that.
To help Trump, the focus should have been on her lying, her corruption, her need to hide everything, and her underhanded tactics for getting what she wants.
I was waiting for him to hit those as well. Laid back on purpose?
On just the loan, taxes and bankruptcies:
Loan. He should have told how he took his debt, used it create wealth and jobs and repaid it, then contrasted that against our monstrous U.S. debt and how it’s doing nothing for our wealth and jobs market, but is now a future wealth-stealing sink hole.
Taxes. I like your take. Then he should have hit her on the Clintons’ tax games with The Clinton Foundation.
Bankruptcies. He should have replied that a majority of new business fail, that’s the normal risk of entrepreneurship, and bankruptcies result. And then contrasted that with how all of the Clintons’ schemes have used other people’s money at little to no risk to themselves.
I cannot believe the number of nervous nellies on FR. Sheesh! The liar & criminal hillary tag-teamed with the media. It isn’;t over yet.
I think he could have buried her for several minutes during the cyber security section. All he had to do was hammer home three points.
1) Mrs. Clinton set up a private email server despite the fact that doing so was contrary to State Department policy.
2) The FBI determined that Mrs. Clinton used that server to communicate classified material. A felony that would have anyone not too big to jail end up in a federal penitentiary.
3) The FBI determined that there was a probability that outside agents were able to obtain unauthorized access to the illegal email server and that these agents were likely hostile to the United States of America.
Is this the person that America needs to have in charge of cyber security?
I also think he should've had a comeback for hillary's line about "things Trump has called women". A list of victims of sex abuse where she's defended the abuser would've been quite excellent. Also he should point out that as Secretary of State she supported regimes that as policy abuse and diminish women.
One thing I've noticed about Mr. Trump. He hits a rough patch, and he comes back stronger. I'm not sure hillary has any ammo left for the second debate.
Then there's the cluelessness factor from the inside crowd. If Mr. Trump was able to not pay taxes by using the law to his advantage, most of us little folk would find that heroic.
That's my take, anyway.
I disagree. There will never be the audience there was last night. If Trump was going to demonstrate her to be the underhanded liar and corrupt individual that she is, last night was the time he should have made that case.
By the time of the third debate, there will be very few persuadable people left. Most will have already made up their minds.
What good is a debate like this if terrorists explode a nuke at Walt Disneyworld tomorrow?
Or Seattle has a 9.2 earthquake, or an asteroid is approaching earth and WILL strike with enough force to kill one third of all living?
Why bother?
Why patronize the MSM, i hope they die screaming.
