Trump MUST start the debate with a sincere apology and a quick pivot.
"Before I answer questions about the truly critical issues facing this nation; a stagnant economy, unsecured borders, a breakdown of law and order, a military in desperate need of rebuilding, and our deteriorating standing in the world I need to apologize. An 11year old recording of a private conversation I had was made public. I said some things that were crude, coarse, and undignified. There is no excuse and no explanation. I want to apologize to everyone and say I'm sorry for what I said. It was especially upsetting to Melania, Ivanka, and Tiffany. I apologize to them with all my heart. My son's told me to "man up" and take responsibility. I do.
My hope since I entered this race was to help address the important issues facing EVERY American and this great nation. That will be my focus tonight."
THAT'S IT!
If a Liberal insists on bringing it up simply say. " I apologized for what I said. What problem facing all Americans can I address for you."
PIVOT TO Hillary and hammer her on her two-faced, say one thing to deceive the public and do the opposite privately. Hammer her on Open Borders. Hammer her on her lies about her emails. Hammer her on her complete failure with Russia.
If another question comes up about women. " I have apologized. Let's talk about some of the big issues that women tell me they are concerned about: A, B, and C."

So Trump talks like a lot of us talked to other men earlier in life. Most of us (and I’ll bet Trump also) acted completely different when around women. I said things that would put Trump’s comments to shame, but have remained married since 23. Thoughts and talk to not equal deeds.
Now, let’s contrast that with old Mr Bent schwanzstucker.
No comparison, peanut gallery, no comparison.
He should wait till the moderator or Hillary says something.
Then the answer should look something like “Yeah I talked like a pig one decade ago. I don’t do that now. In the meantime, Hillary served as Bill’s backup reinforcement, not for lust minded flirtations, but for actual RAPES.”

In a week this will be old news. If I were Trump, when bring it up in the debate, I would say. Go a head, get it out of your system, then we can get back to the issues. If you want to make this election about an off color remark I made in a private conversation 10 years ago; go ahead. I’m running on cleaning up the corruption in Washington and making America work again.
I think that’s all he has to do. What he said really isn’t a big deal, but Illary and her campaign (the liberal msm) will make it a big deal so he needs to get ahead of it first thing, besides, it will be the first question he gets. Then stay on message, talk about what people care about — jobs, border security, trade, terrorism, and all Hillary’s bad points.
I’m disappointed that Trump only apologized.
He should then have turned around and asked everyone if it’s okay for the Clintons to dig up a raunchy private conversation from 2005 why it isn’t okay to contrast that behavior with Bill’s decades long behavior of sexual predation and philandering ALONG WITH Hillary’s equally lengthy pattern of enabling her husband and attacking his accusers.
After all, turnabout IS fair play.

I don’t think he is getting over this one, even with a heartfelt apology. We (well, I) have tried to overlook his immaturity and petulance, but this might be the final straw.
I hate to say this, but if he had any decency and really cared about the country, unless he crushes Hillary on Sunday (unlikely) he should step aside for Pence. Pence would win in a landslide.
We need to win the White House. This guy just isn’t going to do it; not anymore.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he says that. That would be so far ahead of everything Hillary has done it would end up forcing her to to defend a lot of indefensible positions—especially the email server mess and the Clinton Foundation mess.
