If FedGov fails you will still have a governor, state police and all the machinations of local government. Really the average citizen has zero interactions with FedGov.

Thank God some of us getit. If DC collapses(the checks stop coming) just how does a state like Alabama devolve into violent chaos?

People griping on the internet are so eager to claim it will be the French Revolution. There is another alternative. Want “levée en masse?” Stop paying taxes. Enact nullification. There are avenues to try before weapons, and they exist at the state level. We do that and the Feds will show their true intentions very quickly. Then there will be no choice between whether to fight or go back to sleep.

The Deplorables have already considered what is coming. They are as prepared as they can be.

I do recall fielding a supposedly rhetorical question from a liberal acquaintance, "What do you need all those military guns for?" "For war," I said. "What else would you need military guns for?"

I agree with the author that this period resembles the workup to the French - and to a degree, the Russian as well- revolution. We aren't talking about state versus state here, we're talking about social class versus social class, with one neo-aristocratic ruling class figuring its excesses are safe and the ruled one finding that it is strong enough, and the stakes high enough, to say "No." That does not promise a happy time. For all that it is a sick, corrupt, and oppressive social order doomed to collapse, it is a social order of a sort and not, therefore, as sanguinary as a social revolution, which we have never had in America. These tend to be brutal, tribal, and cursed with an unending cycle of violence. See Beirut or Sarajevo of recent vintage for examples.

It can be delayed, even avoided, but only if both sides respect the social compact that keeps us from killing one another. All it takes is for one side to discard it. That is, after all, the nature of a social compact. What it took in 1788 and 1917 was for one side to consider that social compact infinitely malleable and merely a form of control over the governed. That is NOT the nature of a social compact, is is a social compact used as a sham, as is ours at the moment. We don't want to start killing, because we're too damn good at it.

——They are as prepared as they can be-—

prepared but apethetic

they will never really pull the triggers

I don’t know anyone who has lived like that-not co-workers, neighbors, and certainly not family-but I don’t live in a city, and haven’t in the past unless I had to because of my husband’s job or military service-life is easier there, I suppose, but I was raised in a remote place, so city life has no appeal for me. And I’ve been ready for the revolution ever since my parents gave me a copy of Atlas Shrugged for my 14th birthday and I read it. I’m ready and willing-bring on that revolution at last...

You have to add the elites minions; the politicians, news media, educational establishment, federal and state government workers.
These people live in bubble, they have no idea how much the “deplorables” absolutely loathe and detest them.

That would be “Bomber” Harris, the RAF general who claimed killing as many German civilians as possible would end the war. He tried it for about 3 years, killed a few hundred thousand women and children, and accomplished nothing but making the Germans more angry and stubborn. Incidentally, the USAF bombed in daylight so they could see where their bombs were dropping, but the RAF bombed indiscriminately at night because it was “safer” for their crews. That part didn’t work out so well when the Germans developed radar-controlled flak guns and radar-equipped night fighters.

I was a state government employee at the unemployment office for 15 years helping veterans and welfare recipients find work or start businesses.

Even USAAF “precision” bombing was not very precise.
The Strategic Bombing Survey done after the war showed very few bombs actually hit its intended target.

More like “Brave New World” then “1984”. The only thing missing is ‘specially bred castes’.

The leftist elite WANT a violent response from the well-mannered Trump supporters. The mark that distinguishes marxism from socialism is violence in achieving their ends.

James O’Keefe’s videos prove this- what we’ve suspected for many long years.

Can’t disagree with that. They deserve everything that’s coming to them. And then some.

The elites and their boot lickers haven’t really understood that there’s a settling of Accounts of truly Biblical proportions headed their way. Their actions, their treason against God, Man, nature, justice and reason has removed any last vestige of conscience I might have had regarding their fates.

Both my dad and MrT5 were career military men-and my 1st husband left the AF after 6 years-when he was offered a position he couldn’t afford to turn down with a large company. All 3 were called hard men by those who didn’t really know them-but it is true that they never expressed any sympathy for an enemy or any hesitation for taking one out-none at all-I absorbed that thinking, and I make no apologies-an enemy is an enemy, whether they come on like a berserker or appear to be all tears and hand wringing. I’m unsympathetic to whatever end their karma has earned them-they would do the same to me in a heartbeat, if given one blink of hesitation...

I’ve been told my attitude is unchristian-and maybe by some standards it is-but Jesus didn’t hesitate to bring a fight to those who defiled the temple-I don’t think God expects us to not fight for what we believe, either...
