Trump won’t pursue case against Clinton, Conway says (?)

President-elect Donald Trump has decided that his administration will not pursue criminal investigations related to former rival Hillary Clinton’s private email server or her family foundation, his campaign manager said Tuesday.

Trump’s apparent decison, conveyed by campaign manager Kellyanne Conway in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,’’ would be an extraordinary break with political and legal protocol, which holds that the Attorney General and FBI makes decisions on whether to conduct investigations and file charges, free of pressure from the president.

During his campaign, Trump had issued incendiary calls for a special prosecutor to re-open the FBI’s closed investigation of Clinton’s use of a private server while Secretary of State and had also urged investigations of allegations of corruption at the Clinton Foundation. He nicknamed the Democratic nominee “Crooked Hillary” and encouraged chants of “Lock her up!” at his rallies.

for crying out loud!!! HE doesn’t pursue anything....the FBI and the Justice Dept. do. IF HE did Make the Justice Dept. indict her, THAT would cause a sh*tstorm!!

During one of the debates, Hillary Clinton said to Trump: it's "awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country." To which Trump famously retorted: "Because you'd be in jail". So, was Trump just BS'ing?

....Hopefully this investigation is still proceeding...

IIRC, there’s a 10 year statute of limitations on her Secretary of State crimes

“But Conway said Trump now sees things differently. “I think when the president-elect, who’s also the head of your party, tells you before he’s even inaugurated that he doesn’t wish to pursue these charges, it sends a very strong message, tone and content” to fellow Republicans, she said. “Look, I think he’s thinking of many different things as he prepares to become the President of the United States, and things that sound like the campaign are not among them,” she added.”

In reality, Kellyanne basically says nothing of importance here. Pure psyops, IMO.

You honestly think the potential non-prosecution of HRC would be a campaign issue in 2020????

We Deplorables tend to obsess over that Rule of Law thingy.

There are “other” investigations, being handled by “other” areas of government, such as Congress, that are ongoing. Jason Chavetz has said, more than once, that he would be “remiss in his duties as a Congressman” if he did not continue the Congressional investigation.....don’t be fooled!! There are many other agencies that are capable of of exposing her and her henchmen and bringing them down....Trump needs to concentrate on the important issues at hand....I don’t think the investigations will “go away”....I think they will continue - without overwhelming us and beating us down....Trump is moving ahead, baby!!

If this is true he just lost his re-election bid.

Your comment would be funny if it wasn't so ignorant. He never promised to pursue her after the election and it would be unseemly if he were to do it as part of his administration's agenda.

What the article doesn't say is that his upgraded FBI and DOJ will not be interfered with if they decide there are investigative avenues that a valid agency would be expected to pursue in a Nation where the laws were being enforced according to oaths of the offices.

Take a deep breath and make yourself feel better:

Don’t be so sure. He wants to be a unifier. Hard to do that when you’re in seek and destroy mode.

Let's dial back the pearl clutching a little.

Trump doesn't have to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Clinton Foundation. It is under investigation now by the FBI.

The email / classified documents thing was basically spoiled by Comey, so I don't see that coming back up. But the CF is already under investigation...Trump doesn't have to do anything right now.

I don't want HRC to get away with it either. I get it. The law either applies to everyone or it applies to no one. However, if it secures the support of the Reagan Democrats to be magnanimous and let it go, I could live with that. I care more about the future of our country than the future of HRC. I think that all of us should have our priorities arranged that way.

Nonsense. Did you really expect him to prosecute her? He needs to PARDON her. That way he looks merciful AND tars her forever as a pardoned felon.

BULL!!! NONSENSE!!! CRAP!!!

Trump has almost 100% control over the DOJ. His control of the US Dept of Justice is virtually plenary, and he absolutely has the LEGITIMATE authority to instruct DOJ to investigate thoroughly, completely, and constantly. AFTER an indictment is obtained, his authority ends.

But this crap about it’s not in his hands is just that: crap.

“That would cause a sstorm...” Trump’s ENTIRE candidcacy is built around causing such storms. THAT IS WHY WE ELECTED HIM!!!! All strong, conservative positions bring sstorms, and we elected DT because he laughs in the face of those storms. Or at least he used to.

She puts out this explanation that does not say he WILL NOT pursue continuance and we all are supposed to believe his personal wishes won’t be trumped by actual honesty and lawful progression in the aftermath of utter treachery with the prior administration.

I still have to hear the exact words from him: “I will not pursue further investigation of Hillary’s treason.”

She says that if Trump “can help her heal” this is a good thing.

Let her heal in prison.

Let’s hear something out of the Donald rather than wishful reinterpretation out of corrupt complicit media voices... OK?

It might be (as just one possibility) that instead of directly going after Hillary at the start, Donald will start raining more lightning bolts down on the stuff that was going on right next to her. Which in the end might matter even more than Hillary. She could be reduced to a cringing, now neutered rodent without ever having actually been promised an amnesty.

I have a few things here:

1) Its not the presidents job to prosecute, its the AG's. So this should be moot.

2) An AG is supposed to be independent and impartial, but for the media, that only applies to Republicans. They are used to low life politicized AG's for the democrats, who take orders from the WH. So if Trump's AG is looking into prosecution, then Trump won't get in the way.

3) If there is no there, there, then why is the media all in a tizzy about prosecutions and pardons.

“What in the hell is wrong with our new president?”

Nothing.

Remember, he’s not a politician. During the election he proved time & again he is brilliant at strategy. Also as president, Trump can only hire a AG & people for the DOJ who will FOLLOW THE LAW. Once this is done the Rule of Law will deal with the Clintons appropriately.

IMO, this is all psyops. Trust Trump till he proves by his deeds he can’t be.

I want to unleash a major rant but will just say I knew it the moment he said the following on November 9th. He slapped us in the face immediately as far as I am concerned when he said we owe this thieving, lying, crook, a “major debt of gratitude.....”

I am going to say, he makes sick and leave it at that. I am through drinking kool-aid.

DJT 11/9/2016
I’ve just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us. It’s about us. On our victory, and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard-fought campaign.

I mean, she fought very hard. Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe her a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country.

I mean that very sincerely. Now it is time for America to bind the wounds of division, have to get together. To all Republicans and Democrats and independents across this nation, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people.
