Trump won’t pursue case against Clinton, Conway says (?)
Washington Post ^ | 11/22/2016 | Jerry Markon, Paul Farhi and Karen Tumulty

President-elect Donald Trump has decided that his administration will not pursue criminal investigations related to former rival Hillary Clinton’s private email server or her family foundation, his campaign manager said Tuesday.

Trump’s apparent decison, conveyed by campaign manager Kellyanne Conway in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,’’ would be an extraordinary break with political and legal protocol, which holds that the Attorney General and FBI makes decisions on whether to conduct investigations and file charges, free of pressure from the president.

During his campaign, Trump had issued incendiary calls for a special prosecutor to re-open the FBI’s closed investigation of Clinton’s use of a private server while Secretary of State and had also urged investigations of allegations of corruption at the Clinton Foundation. He nicknamed the Democratic nominee “Crooked Hillary” and encouraged chants of “Lock her up!” at his rallies.

““That would cause a sstorm...” Trump’s ENTIRE candidcacy is built around causing such storms. THAT IS WHY WE ELECTED HIM!!!! All strong, conservative positions bring sstorms, and we elected DT because he laughs in the face of those storms. Or at least he used to.”

Nice to know that the MSM still can make idiots on FR jump on command.

Know what I think? Smokescreen.

Good move actually, he’s washing his hands of it, and will let his AG do his job without pressure or interference from the Oval Office.

If Sessions is AG, I’m willing to bet he puts the Clintons on notice as son as he can, and appoints a special prosecutor, without interference or prompting from the President.

My guess is he and Sessions have already discussed it, and Sessions can go out and do his job without any further interaction with the Donald.

I am going to write and state that I want Clinton investigated and prosecuted if necessary.

Trump has set up a webpage where you can contact them directly.
He promised us a library or something like that in the W.H. that would be fully staffed to hear from citizens.

https://apply.ptt.gov/yourstory/

I submitted a suggestion and got this reply..

Thank You
Thank you for taking the time to share your idea. We are a government of, for, and by the people, and it is your voice and the voices of millions of Americans that will help make our country great again.

It isn’t NOW. Once inaugurated, a different story.

Three things:

1) Trump needs Democrat support for the Supreme Court and may need it for some of the other positions, given the RINOs on our side.

2) Trump still hasn’t been ‘elected’ (by the Electors). It’s not over until then (and then until Congress buys off on the Electors). After that, anything he said prior can be walked back (i.e., he can still prosecute).

3) Trump wants Hillary to run again, as she was so much fun last time.

Give me some quote from a “Office of the President-Elect” or something.

They're quoting Kellyanne Conway. Doesn't she speak for the office of the president-elect?

How many more investigations does Trump need to open.

There are at least 5 separate investigations of the Clintons that we know of, including emails and Clinton foundation.

Trump cannot shut those down because it would be obstruction of justice

Take a slow deep breath. Calm thyself. Watch Trump’s victory speech a few times.

Conway didn’t say ANYTHING in her non-answer. It’s a precarious situation while Obama still controls the power of the Presidency & Trump knows this. Seeming while not actually being conciliatory now is great strategy. He is setting Obama & Cankles up “bigly” as he did during the campaign.

“Two weeks post election and some FReepers are writing him off and slinking away. Get a damn grip already.”

Because lots of people on this site have no more brains and spine than guys on the left. They are all emotion. Easily manipulated, and complete basket-cases that will put on a front that, and then react like little a beaten dog at every report and utterance from the MSM.

That’s one thing 2016 showed me is that pajama boys exist on both sides.

HE doesn’t pursue anything....the FBI and the Justice Dept. do.

As we've seen under Obama, the FBI and the Justice Department do what the president directs them to do.

So — Trump will not seek it. Will he prevent it?

Sounds like it. The FBI and Justice Department follow the lead of the president.

I don’t think that most voters were gullible enough believe that he was going to keep that promise.

What other promises did he make that you think most people aren't gullible enough to believe?
