Trump has consulted the generals before this tweet, for sure. In fact, I learn from him the truth, after hearing from the lying media here in France that the drone has been “confiscated” by the Chinese as if it had committed something illegal. The word “confiscated” has been hammered out to soften an act of agression to which Obama remains casual as usual, what a digusting coordinated propaganda by the MSM.
I’ve already seen such thing on youtube with a Chinese vessel machine-gunning down Vietnamese fishermen on some island in the Spratlies with the subtitle : “the heroic soldiers of the Chinese Republic are defending our motherland”. That made me sick.
I hope Trump will follow up and send some more aircraft carrier overthere to calm the Chinese down.

Trump saying “keep it” is a statement that would be dangerous to read too much into. The very next statement can be implied: “Keep this drone you SOB’s. But if you try to take the next one we are killing your ass.”
You don’t have to tweet the second part above if they know you are not very happy and mean it.

Come to think of it. China’s “one child policy” denied them of these childhood games. Oh the irony!
He has spoke to someone who is knowledgeable about Chinese and culture. By saying ‘stole’ and having them keep it is a dishonoring of them, a western view of ‘I don’t give a damn’ is not the same as the Chinese view of social/political interactions. Personally, I am glad I have the ‘just say it like it is’ western view.

Trump mentioned several times on the campaign trail about how his opponents in the business world were flummoxed by his unpredictability. For many, many years we’ve been told how important predictability is in international affairs, but maybe that’s just more of the same nonsense we’ve been fed. Maybe unpredictability is exactly what we need. I’m willing to give it a shot. It certainly couldn’t be worse than we’ve had.

With Obama in charge, it open season for shenanigans against the military. I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama coordinated this operation with the Chinese, unbeknownst to the Navy.

I don’t like any of the recommendations offered on here about that drone. My feeling is that Obama should send the ChiComs a strongly worded letter. That will get their attention. Either that or send James Taylor over there to sing a song about their naughty behavior.

It could also be directed at our own press. First he says what he really wants to say. Then knowing the press will be critical of his tweet, he then turns around and says just the opposite. Now the press is in a quandary. They had spent all that time developing story line to trash Trump’s first response. However, now he has done a complete 180 and contradicted himself. The press is left trying to figure out the best way to now attack Donald. They will most likely pick his second tweet to paint him as dangerous to this nation’s security, so they argue for what he originally tweeted.

I’m sure there are other similar incidents too.
The point is, we should always expect this kind of act from antagonists.
But every time something happens it seems to come as a totally unexpected event.
