My guess, the kid IS sick and was attracted to isis due to mental issues. They really are all mad..insane.

The index finger is the Muslim sign. I suspect that he has mental issues, because a lot of jihadi recruits do, but if he walked into an FBI office just about a month ago and said he was being “forced to fight for ISIS,” why didn’t they do something about it? At least send him for a psych exam if they didn’t believe him.
I thought he was probably Dominican but it seems he’s Puerto Rican. They looke more like each other than either group looks like Cubans (and not at all like Mexicans).

By now lawyers have “volunteered” their services to family and girlfriend and we may not get many more facts.
Also, per family member who’s flown in both the US and EU: Has seen heavily armed LE in baggage claim areas in a couple of EU airports, but not in US airports. Seems like some heavily armed LE in baggage claim areas would be a very wise idea.

Yup. The visual trail (photos) are interesting on this one, tho. The rest we’ll have to wait and see. But since the guy turned himself in to the FBI as an ISIS fighter, as reported by the FL Senator, that lends some credence to the overall story.

I hope his case doesn’t disappear down the memory hole, and we get to know all the details of his indoctrination and contacts with the enemy, but I’m not holding my breath. After another week or two in the news we might not hear another word about this atrocity.
