If it can happen to him.....
I wonder if he was using clenbuterol....
Forget it - I’m grabbing a whopper and large fries on the way home.
A Wendy’s Baconator might be the ticket.
I had a doctor friend tell me that you cannot look at a person and tell who has heart disease potential and who doesn’t. It is totally random.
Hes doing a lot better and his exercise for the time being is limited to walking. Bob a fitness nut says the heart attack is all genetics.
...
It usually is genetics. But his a survival is a testament to his fitness. The odds aren’t good for people who are revived by CPR.
My goal is to be in great shape when I die.
He’s 51? Wow. Looks about 38. My first guess is his years of intense workouts, strict diets and not enough water have aggravated a weak or compromised heart. Perhaps he thought exercise would protect him from a condition that runs in the family.
He’s going to have to watch it from this point on.
I recall being in junior high and hearing about a 12 year old boy who was a big scorer on the varsity basketball team. He had a heart attack and had to leave the team.
One of the parish priests was asked to say a Mass for this boy’s recovery. He did recover, and switched to other sports, like swimming and bowling.
He is lucky. Usually the heart explode on the young, athletic type.
True story...my 89 year old great uncle was having a heart attack, so he was transported to the hospital. He called and asked me to come to the hospital, so I raced down. He wanted out of the hospital, the doctor said if you leave now, you won't be alive tomorrow. I tried to persuade him to stay, but he checked himself out against medical advice
. While I was taking him back to his apartment, he asked if we could make a stop...you guessed it, he wanted to pull through McDonalds and get a Big Mac, fries, and a milkshake...so we did. He was alive the next morning, and for many mornings after that, he passed away when he was 96.
Oh it must have been his diet. /s
Precisely
Great Story! Thanks for that - smart man to get out of the Institute and back into the world.
Reminds me of Jim Fixx, the running guru who died in 1984 while jogging:

Biggest Loser Fitness Coach
I saw Rob Reiner recently, he is still Fat and out of shape, why hasn’t he fired his personal trainer yet.?
Remember Jim Fixx? I’m beginning to think my couch potato exercise routine (pass the chips) may be the better way to go.
My Dr. has always said “pick your parents”.
Comfort food does more than fill the belly, it also lifts your spirit. Good memories you can feel, smell and taste.
Sometimes genetics, sometimes supplements or drugs....
