Is New York Times signaling that SCOTUS nominee Neil Gorsuch is pro-homosexual?

March 3, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) - Is the New York Times signaling that Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch is pro-homosexual, in the same way that it reported that then-Education Secretary nominee Betsy DeVos was a friend of “LGBT rights”?

Conservatives and same-sex/transgender activists are debating the significance of a Feb. 11 article by veteran Times reporter Sheryl Gay Stolberg. It reports that in his personal relationships with homosexual friends and co-workers, Judge Gorsuch has been very approving of homosexual relationships.

Gorsuch also attends a socially liberal Episcopal church in Boulder, led by a pro-LGBT female pastor, Rev. Jill Springer, who reportedly supports homosexual “marriage.”

The Gorsuch confirmation hearings are scheduled to begin Monday, March 20.

LifeSiteNews reporter Matthew Hoffman, in his in-depth report on Gorsuch’s judicial philosophy, his private moral views, his church, and his interactions with homosexuals, describes a man who differs in some big ways with the jurist whom he could replace and to whom he is most often compared: the late Antonin Scalia.

“Gorsuch’s liberal Episcopal affiliations and his ambiguous views on some social issues have resonance with those who find him uncomfortably similar to David Souter, a vaguely conservative Republican and Episcopalian whose views on social issues were largely unknown when he was appointed to the Supreme Court by George H. W. Bush in 1999,” Hoffman writes. “Souter went on to side with the Supreme Court’s liberal wing in crucial decisions upholding Roe v. Wade and striking down Texas’s anti-sodomy law.”

I don’t have anything against gay people at all, even though, from time to time, I call people that I do not like, like the GOP, faggots.

Even though I believe marriage is only between men and women, I’m over it. I do not care what gay people do as long as they are not committing crimes.

If they want to do messed up stuff in their bedroom, that is between them and God, and it doesn’t matter to me at all.

There are some gay folks I know around here who run a couple of restaurants, and they make some truly great food for me, are very nice to me, they treat me as a friend, and I love them for that.

So it’s whatever. I don’t care about that anymore.

A useful thing to know about SCOTUS nominees would be who were the two or three people who originally recommended them.

No, not really concerned.

Now, if you show me that the congregation he attends routinely preaches super-lib social justice garbage, I’d be concerned. But until then, I keep in mind that there are congregations that manage to maintain Biblical truth even while dealing with a denomination that is going down the tubes.

It’s something to pay attention to, but I’m not going to get the vapors over it until we get something like a ‘Rev’ Wright situation.

# 33 Perhaps you need to go and study Gorsuch’s rulings and writings of those rulings!!! His writings are VERY similar to Scalia’s the humor of Scalia is there also!!! Investigate for yourself and STOP believing ANYTHING printed in the press!!! Exclamation points aside, the tone of your reply is accusatory - as if I believed ANYTHING printed in the press - and you also imply I have nor researched Gorsuch or his rulings, so you entirely missed the point of my post. Have a pleasant day 8^ )

Who cares what church he goes to?

Here on FreeRepublic we make fun of politicians who pray in public. I can point you to dozens and dozens of posts from back in September and October that did just that. We love to post pictures of them looking stupid with their eyes closed. We love making fun of the politician’s fathers who actually believe the stupid stuff in the bible.

Who cares if the next Justice goes to a church with a lesbian pastor?

This if FreeRepublic. We don’t care about that stuff anymore.

You wanted PROOF from a source other than fake news and I gave it.

Personally I would be more comfortable with an atheist than someone that is a member of a church that promotes liberal fake science and perverts/distorts the word of God. “Progressive” LGBTQetc. Christians disgust me because they distort the word of God to justify their sin. Make no mistake. “Virtuous” pedophiles will be the next “progressive” Christians

Evangelicals are about a fourth of the US population but have very little representation in the judiciary, legislature, and even the current executive branch. (Pence is an Evangelical.)

Evangelicals are the largest demographic who get conservatives elected, including Donald Trump.

There are currently NO EVANGELICALS on the Supreme Court. None. Zero.

I would really like to see that change. And if we can’t find an Evangelical candidate for the job, why would we replace a pro-life, pro-family Catholic with someone who is further to the left on social issues?

I’m not sure if Neil Gorsuch will make a bad SC justice, but the fact that liberals seem ok with him makes me a bit worried.

There is real cause for concern l think. His “church” is FAR left including belief in AGW. The “minister” went to the DC woman march and denounced Trump. Most espicipal members left when the church went off the rails Gorsuch was one of those who stayed. I think he is at best another Kennedy but there is no stopping him at this point. He is no Scalia that is for sure.

Lol, what an overreaction to a pretty neutral statement I’m sticking with it. Who recommended Gorsuch to the Heritage Foundation? Probably some local people in Colorado.

What about his book on euthanasia? Do you think a radical pro-abortion person would write a book like this?

Gorsuch sounds like a looming train wreck. The biggest strike against him is his membership in the most liberal church in a totally Leftist university city. We can’t have another Souter.
