Over the past week the hysteria on the right and among some weak-kneed Trumpers has been over the top. Even Rush Limbaugh began to wiggle uncomfortably, fearing Trump did know what he was up against, and hadn't moved fast enough to deal with the "silent coup" against him.
Jeff Sessions' recusal supposedly showed that Trump, like all the rest of the Republicans, didn't know how to play hardball.
Ooops.
I can always tell when something big is about to happen at Team Trump when my contact messages aren't returned. And I'm always pleasantly surprised that Team Trump is one to a dozen steps ahead of anything I'm thinking.
Case in point: yesterday I drafted a memo urging Trump to go on offense against the Democrats, specifically the Congressional rats. And as usual, I'm thinking of building a bowling alley while Trump is envisioning a gleaming skyscraper.
Today Trump's offensive began. But only after cleverly baiting the hook, luring the enemy Cannae-style into an envelope from which there is no escape.
He didn't fight back against the guys in the ring. He went after their manager, their coach, and their funder-in-chief. Trump went after the head of the snake.
By Tweeting that Trump Tower and his personal residence were bugged---and apparently the evidence of such a wiretap approval exists---Trump again shows why he plays 3D chess and his enemies are playing Parcheesi. The Bible says it this way: "They will come at you one way and go away fleeing seven."
Other than the fact that this is OBAMA he is going after, the juciest part is that Sessions did NOT recuse himself from a wiretap investigation of Obama. Get it?
Trump just leapfrogged the whole Russia thing with an "It ends today." Now Team Trump has leverage to force a full and total standdown of all opposition to Trump inside Congress, all end to the disruptions, and meek and timid confirmation of all appointees. Or Zero goes to jail. That simple.
Many here will want blood. But I'm reminded of Sam Houston after he defeated Santa Anna at San Jacinto. Instead of hanging the dictator, he merely took all of the American Southwest. Santa Anna was out soon anyway, but we still have Phoenix, Denver, and (unfortunately) California. It will be a negotiation from strength, and the Dems will have no choice but to comply. They won't completely give up---there will be surreptitious acts with enough deniability---but this was a perfectly baited hook that all of Trump's enemies just walked into.
He deliberately waited until every @sshole in the leadership of the Democrat Party had made fools of themselves calling for Sessions to resign over his contacts with Russian officials ...
Then he posted Twitter messages yesterday calling for investigations of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer over their contacts with Russian officials (the Twitter messages were complete with photos of those two sh!tbags with senior Russian officials, including the photo with Schumer and Putin himself) ...
And now he's openly accused the jug-eared Kenyan exchange student of interfering in the 2016 election -- which is exactly what these @ssholes have been accusing the Russians of doing all along.
Hollywood couldn't have written a better script for this charade.
I share your concerns, and when those fears surface, I encourage you and all to turn to our court of first and last resort: The Lord - if you are not already doing so! We MUST pray for Mr Trump’s protection each day! So far He is gracious in hearing us!
For those who may not know, we have an excellent daily prayer thread for lifting our new President, his family, and loyal team up to the Lord.
And who knows - perhaps the Lord may visit each one of us willing to do this prayer warrior effort at odd times of the day with the prompting that He needs us to pray right NOW so that He can send His teams of angels to our President’s side at those very times of danger. It is sacred work and a sacred calling to do this.

It matters little what democrats believe- they are competitively detached from reality anyways- what really matters is what independents believe, and sadly many of them get their ‘news’ from the MSM-
But FR reminds me of the fraternity I was a member of in college for a couple of years. One would expect everyone to get along and be on the same page, all being "brothers", and all.

To heck with investigating the Russians. They aren't the problem.
Putin may be a really bad guy, but how does Obama differ? The real enemy is our own ex-president and his army of protestors and misfits out to overthrow the government of Donald Trump. He and Valarie Jarrett have even set up an insurgency headquarters just two blocks from Trump's WH.
Congress should be investigating the enemy within, the Obama administration, not the Ruskies, for trying to alter the outcome of our election in November. And for trying to take down the current president with a shadow government set in place by Obama before he left office to thwart Trump's agenda.
The problem is that these people will not stop.
Putting nobody in jail means that they can claim a partial victory, and live to fight another day.
Even if they fail to oust President Trump, as of now they have Flynn and two Sessions recusals on the scoreboard.
As I reposted last night in Democrat Playbook: "Pull the majority along as far as we can...", Democrats use investigations to drag Republicans into buying the rope used to hang them. Republicans help Democrats every step of the way.
Just as before with the Jay Rockefeller memo, Democrats have successfully turned the subject away from the content of their emails corrupting the Democrat primary process to Trump colluding with the Russians to corrupt the general election. And again, Republicans are playing their part.
Trump may be playing "3D chess and his enemies are playing Parcheesi," but Trump has to get his own party on the right game board, too, or they will undermine him after every move.
I'll also appeal to the historian: you are reminded of Sam Houston defeating Santa Ana at San Jacinto. I posted in early February that Democrats remind me of Hernan Cortes at Veracruz in 1519 when he scuttled his Fleet of ships so there was nowhere to go for the troops but forward.
The Blue Senators in Red States have nothing to go back to, even if they do compromise. It's a fight to the political death with Trump now. Win and they think they can keep their seats; lose and they will be ousted in the next mid-term election.
It's not Donald Trump versus Santa Ana, it's Donald Trump versus Hernan Cortes. Cortes was rejected and was desperate to regain his authority and stature, so he followed a scorched-earth plan to conquer his objectives.
