Freedom Caucus lied to Trump. Trump asked what concessions they wanted to get this done. Trump got the concessions they wanted. Then the Freedom Caucus voted no.

Nobody voted. The guy who is afraid of no one blinked and pulled the bill.

You can do both in a way and I agree with you on 2.

By sticking with conservative small government principles, repealing in total the ACA in a practical phase out over 2 years, and making available a strictly market driven approach to healthcare so anyone who wants it can buy the level of insurance they personally want and/or need, everyone will be covered. If they aren’t it would strictly be by choice.

One caveat though; some kind of high risk pool for the many who have pre-existing conditions needs to be developed and possibly subsidized up to a point if needed for the lower income brackets. These people must have the same equal access at fair prices as anyone else. Sounds easy enough to say but I’m guessing it will take someone who is familiar with insurance wizardry to come up with a plan for it. It may be the insurance companies, doctors offices, and hospitals across the board will simply have to accept less for these patients but still enough to make it worth their while to cover.

That is simply not true. There was no real reduction of regulations that drive up the cost. Costs would continue to go up.

Ditto. I too was thinking Trump may have been counting on the FC.

Surprising how many faux conservatives are on this site.

The primaries turned most semi-"conservatives" into Trumpsters.

Recalling the discussions on this site during the primaries, I recall you as being a strong Trump supporter.

therefore I do not understand your current lament

Trump's turn to the left is terrifying. I'm at a loss at how Trump can feel so betrayed by conservatives yet works hand in hand with Ryan who tried everything to defeat him. . He's not exactly trying to comfort his base. Read link in tweet below.

If you don’t move to replace Ryan with a real conservative, the Freedom Caucus is going to be sitting on the sidelines while Ryan pushes he cheap labor express agenda with the help of Democrats.

Ok, Ryan passes the bill with Dem. support, the bill goes to the Senate (Maybe it gets approved).

Are you now saying that the Donald would sing this "cheap labor express agenda" of a bill ????

Trump's turn to the left is terrifying.

Let us not get ahead of ourselves here. The RinoCare bill has not passed

The Donald has appointed some "conservative" people to his Cabinet.

It is simply too early to make any judgements

A FC bill would get less votes than the AHCA would have. These FC members live in la-la land.

Did you see their (HFC) press statement? A bill passed and was approved to repeal Obamacare the last year of Obama Admin. All Republicans voted for it.

It was an easy vote. They knew it would not pass in the Senate and obviously would not be signed by Obama. Pure political theater.

People just don’t get it or are not personally harmed by Obamacare. Something has to happen. If we can’t repeal and replace it then it will have to be reformed and funded. That’s the reality.

Unless you live in poverty, the government should have NOTHING TO DO with your health care. (this is aside from standard consumer protection laws for fraud and such)

Whatever government involves itself in it drives the cost up when the government administers or regulates it.

Until our masters in Washington realize and admit that, they will never get it right.

Trump needs to reassure his base that he’s still with them. All this talk of Bannon’s enemies list (House Freedom Caucus, Heritage, etc) and his tweets about HFC & Heritage to blame for bill’s failure is very concerning.

I’ve been with Trump every step of the way but worry that he’s already too deep in the swamp. It’s what happens to all our guys, they get in and turn on conservatives because we’re “not the majority”.

Hope I’m wrong but Trump needs to speak up if he’s still with us and stop with the conservative bashing.

Trump's turn to the left is terrifying.

You're not alone in that fear. So far, things are not looking too good.

We have no AG, Sessions is MIA.

The CIA Director is invisible.

Priebus so far has been a disaster.

Kellyanne is being "Palined" and like Palin is getting little support from the GOP.

Paul Ryan and the Congressional "leadership" have been a disaster.

Mitch McConnell is a mumbling non-factor.

Senate Republicans are actively working against the President.

The RINO NeverTrumpers in Media slam Trump with impunity.

FBI Director Comey should have been canned weeks ago.

The Deep State has not yet been purged.

And now President Trump seems to be channeling Geraldo Rivera.

Mr. Trump: If you try to please everyone you end up pleasing no one. If you side with the GOPe you're done. Finished. Do what you said you were going to do. Stay away from the GOPe. And for Heaven's sake purge the Deep State ASAP.

8 years ago, the world wasn’t collapsing and thousands were not dying in the streets because they were thrown out of hospitals. Costs WERE spiraling out of control. Putting the Federal Government in charge of that will NOT solve that problem. It only made it worse.

Repeal the ACA, effective Jan 1, 2018. During the meantime, pass some common sense laws that will help drive costs DOWN. They would have 8 months to work on the replacement, BUT THEY WOULD HAVE DONE WHAT WE ASKED THEM TO DO OVER AND OVER. KILL THE ACA!!!

I’ve been saying this and keep getting shot down but if Healthcare is tackled again it won’t be anywhere near as conservative as this. Trump will work with he Democrats which means their ideas and wants will be in the bill. It will be a bill that won’t be labeled Trumpcare because it will have both parties in it and no one will “own” it (which was a major part of the no votes. No one actually wants their names on anything). FC will be against the eventual solution as well but his time it won’t have any of their wishes. Short sighted!
