RUSH: I also have Nikki Haley, a couple of bites of Nikki Haley just ripping it at the United Nations earlier. Heres take one
HALEY: It could be that Russia is knowingly allowing chemical weapons to remain in Syria. It could be that Russia has been incompetent in its efforts to remove the chemical weapons. Or it could be that the Assad Regime is playing the Russians for fools, telling them there are no chemical weapons, all the while stockpiling them on their bases. The world is waiting for the Russian government to act responsibly in Syria. The world is waiting for Russia to reconsider its misplaced alliance with Bashar Assad. The United States will no longer wait for Assad to use chemical weapons without any consequences. Those days are over.
RUSH: I know what youre saying. Thats not what you said during the campaign, Mr. Trump! Thats not what you said. This wasnt gonna happen! Thats what you said during the campaign! Andy McCarthys out there tweeting, Its unconstitutional. He cant do this without congressional authority, without other agreements being in place. So theres a lot of discord on this. Heres one more from Nikki Haley also today at the U.N.
Amb. Haley: Russian govt bears some responsibility for Syrian chemical attack
HALEY: Now we must move to a new phase, a drive toward a political solution to this horrific conflict. We expect the Syrian regime and its allies to take the U.N. political process seriously, something they have not done up until this point. We expect Russia and Iran to hold their ally accountable and abide by the terms of the ceasefire. We expect this council to speak loudly and forcefully when the Regime or its allies undermine the political process, and countless of our own resolutions. The United States took a very measured step last night. We are prepared to do more.
RUSH: Oh, yeah.
HALEY: But we hope that will not be necessary.
RUSH: Thats another point. Jack Keane, the military guy the former general who is now a strategy analyst at Fox kept saying (paraphrased), This is so limited. What we did last night, this is a limited attack! He said, It sounds like a lot, 59 Tomahawks. But the Russians were alerted, by the way. There were Russian troops there. Its called a confliction notice. In intergovernmental language, its called a confliction notice and basically We didnt call Putin.
We sent word to the Russian troops on the ground that itd be wise if you guys hightailed it. They had plenty of time to get out of there so that there were no Russians harmed. The military target was the chemical weapon stocks, and General Keane said, This is limited. This is very, very limited. It sounds like a lot of Tomahawks, but the target is very limited. Theres no reason to be having an overreaction to this, and Nikki Haley just said the same thing, that this was essentially a very light response compared to what we could do if we had to do it again.
Now I want Trump to price those cruise missiles say at $10mm each. Present the UN with an offset for $590,000,000 from funds we would have contributed to the UN. Since them won’t do the job, we will but they will pay for it.
Sincerely,
Kim Davis (writing from prison)
I also know a lot about United States sovereignty -- which is why I consider the U.N. Ambassador position to be a waste of a functioning (I think) American brain.
I also have no interest in having the taxpayers of this country piss away billions of dollars defending Muslims against other Muslims halfway around the world -- while we allow tens of millions of foreign invaders to bleed our taxpayers dry right here in the U.S.
We've seen this movie before, haven't we?
"Sovereignty," my @ss. LOL.
God Bless.
The United States has been in a war with all factions since the founding. Every faction in this world attacks us.
They use our own documents against us. The Democrats have used the Court at every turn to over-rule the Constitution.
No wonder they will go ape on a Trump appointee.
They lost.
This attack on Syria means nothing to the left.
Jeane Kirkpatrick. She was strong and never afraid of calLing the U.N. on the carpet. And Bolton. The last 8 years were had Rice and Powers. Nikki Haley is doing just fine.
Her expression and body language are meek. Don’t they have a large screen there?
I see Helen Lovejoy is still thinking of the children.
Has she presented any demonstrable evidence yet that Syria dropped poison gas?
Last I heard the McCain cucks still had bupkis.
I’d say Nikki is a marked improvement over what we have had over the last few years.
You’re pathetic and twisted if that is your response to an image of child even if you disagree with specific policy decisions.
Are you pro-abortion as well?
I just wished she had not taken down the confederate flag and instead accused the democrats of slavery crimes instead.
Putin-Obama connection. It was the Russians indeed, giving Obama space.
Ya’ll need to read up on. Jeanne Kirkpatrick. Loved her. Did a paper on her in college. Haley was my gov. Voted for her twice. Disappointed in her second term. “Opportunist” is how I describe her. She’s no Kirkpatrick... but time will tell.
Niki Haley does not trip my wire even if Trump appointed her....frankly, as mentioned, tired of women at the UN or for that matter most other positions at the head of the train. They still see through the eyes of a woman.....and that’s a very different call for most.
Niki is no Margret Thatcher...who had the heart of a women but the head of a mans.
When I see Niki stand at the UN without reading word for word what she’s saying and that convincing me she means what shes saying rather than just carrying a message...then I might reconsider my opinion. As she is now I’m not impressed.
Just read an article that said the Tomahawk missiles ring out at about $1M a copy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I read that too and for that price, they are a bargain, considering the damage they can inflict.
Nikki Haley was a virulent Never Trumper and is establishment. Her views are in line with that of John McCain, not what Trump ran on. As opposed to doing what Trump campaigned on - working with Russia to take out ISIS - and staying out of conflicts that aren’t a threat to the U.S. like Syria’s civil war. That said, I may have supported Trump’s strike if there wasn’t reason to doubt Assad was behind it, but there was reason enough for me to want a full investigation before we moved on this.
(That's not meant to be snarky -- it's just that the top figures on the receiving end are corrupt men.)
I understand completely. Margaret Thatcher is a pretty high bar. I doubt we’ll ever see another woman leader who comes close in my lifetime. But it’s good to have goals.
