The Nazis used Carbon Monoxide in special vans at first, but it became very traumatic for the soldiers as the victims would scream and yell and do all sorts of horrible stuff while dying, trying to clean out the vans was a mess too.
As Germans are known to do, they went with more efficient means later, such as Zyklon B, a de-lousing agent.
Chemical battlefield weapons are a different animal.

The gas chamber and battle field tactical chemical munitions are different beasts. In 1945 Hitler was suicidal, surrounded and yet didn’t stoop to the level of using chemical attacks. I get his point, you should too.

I was astounded when I heard him say this. It made me think that he is going overboard in trying to make Assad out to be the bad guy.
Leave it to the NYT to twist history. Hitler was wounded in WWI by gas and vowed never to use it for military purposes. Using it in gas chambers is entirely different from warfare.
