RUSH LIMBAUGH: In the case of this wall business, the only thing about it that bothers me folks, is the 'governmen shutdown' aspect. I want the Democrats shut down once and for all on this. I want them eating this. And I want all kinds of horrible-tasting stuff on it when they swallow it. I want this 'government shutdown' stuff rammed in every orifice of theirs whether you can see it or not. And I want them to eat it, I want them to chew it, and I want them to swallow it. And I don't want them to ever regurgitate it.
I am so sick and tired of this. It is one of the biggest lies, one of the biggest misrepresentations, one of the biggest... tricks that the Republicans have ever fallen for..
The government never totaly shuts down. If it did no one would ever notice unless the media was out there whining about it.

I disagree on that.
I think most supporters understand the headwinds the President is dealing with. Even from the RINOs.
We won’t like it, but if it doesn’t happen, or happen quickly, Trump won’t get the blame. Just my opinion.
Well, I’m 100% sure that part of the wall will be built on the first term. Building a wall is not very hard and not very expensive. Making it the centerpiece of the platform was a stroke of genius.
1. He does not believe in federal employees being paid for not working. They are no better than private sector employees who are “laid off” through no fault of their own. President Trump should say he will veto any measure that gives back pay to nonessential federal employees who did not work.
2. Trump should say that nonessential federal employees should apply for unemployment benefits once their employment is suspended -— just as their private-sector counterparts do in similar circumstances. He should say that if there is a “government shutdown”, it's possible that not all the “laid off” employees would be called back to work.
3. Trump should also make things such as National Parks ESSENTIAL (for the mental and economic health of the American public) and, in other ways, make the “shut down” as painless for Americans as possible. He should have his administration starting to plan for this possibility NOW so he can react quickly.
If he says that and commits to that, look how quick the ‘RAT Senators in states with substantial numbers of federal employees DECIDE TO NOT HAVE A “SHUTDOWN”. The federal employees and their unions would suddenly be on the side of “LET'S NOT HAVE A “GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN” instead of the side of “YEAH...FREE PAID VACATION FOR NOT WORKING”.
Yeah, he is right, and the dems will use it, and the GOP will not only let them use it, they want them to use it.
The GOP and the dems are the same thing, and the shutdown is a ruse concocted by both of them to get the country to go along with their BS kabuki dance.
There is no opposition party, except in as much as they all oppose Trump and us.
Our government has become our enemy. We are paying them very well to destroy us and our country.
I remember the episode from five years ago and the amount of meetings held (I worked in a gov’t agency) where it was very clear that 90-percent of the agency group were going home and ten-percent were working. The unfairness was readily apparent because those of us working...would get paid when the episode ended, and those who didn’t work....would also get paid. Lot of negativity brewed about that plan.
Frankly, this is all minor-league worries for the first ten days. When you get to thirty days of government shut-down, and guys in DC who pay $1,500 a month on mortgages for a $700,000 house they bought...will start to worry. By the 6th week of this....I suspect the Democrats will be begging for a budget....any budget....to avoid massive trouble in the DC region. If I were Trump, I’d lay out that I want 10-percent of the work-force permanently laid off right now, and another ten-percent by 1 January.
If it doesn’t happen, I won’t be voting GOP again.

Well, not quite. I know it’s semantics, but ‘no new taxes’ was something that HW could have prevented but didn’t.
Whereas the wall is something that Trump is trying to get through and it’s an uphill battle to find the right sized thumbscrews for each member the swamp.
Sorry, but I think you are wrong about this.
‘Build the Wall’ was the cornerstone of Trump’s campaign, and if it doesn’t get done OR is seen to be not having been done, which is how it will be portrayed, it IS “read my lips” all over again.
Trump has the power to make it happen. Otherwise he’s just been stared down by the not enough power Chuck Schumer.

I keep posting it. He needs to start taking scalps. The Rats have absolutely no fear of him. He needs to change that quickly. I am sure he is aware of a good deal of “low hanging fruit” that could be harvested toward this end. Carlos Danger? HIllary? Abedin? Any number of these Rats need to be publicly “flogged”. Image is everything and the BSM is making the message into Trump being stymied by the brilliant tacticians on the left.
As long as they have no fear of him he might as well not be there.

How does Trump FORCE the Congress to appropriate the funds?
Or are you suggesting he simply order construction to begin and reallocate funds from other areas?
He can refuse this budget (and it wouldn’t hurt to kick some a ).
