Town expected flood of business after Noah’s Ark opened. So far, it’s a trickle.

I certainly hope God blesses it to a larger witness.

The exact means by which the Ark, Flood, and related stories are explained by the bible accounts — resulting in sometimes bitter, even un-Christian toned debates between bible interpretation camps such as OEC and YEC — seems to me to be overshadowed by the very visual statement the Ark made: “My love towards you is THIS large.” It is not the fault of God, but of man, that more did not consent to board this Ark. And the boarding of the animals may have been another visual picture to plead with mankind. “Look, I even care this much about the beasts.” Although most of those of Noah’s day refused, and Noah proved to be no paragon of perfection himself, it illustrates how large God’s love is and how powerful a salvation is that faith will engage.

An obvious question I am curious about. Do they pass out gospel pamphlets there? This should be a free item. Are the churches of nearby cities participating? Like they could underwrite coupons to the exhibit.

I think it is worth praying for, that it proves a good witness and that it manages to avoid the worst controversies that tend to derail people’s attentions.

I remember seeing the signs and basic construction work that had been done when taking my daughter to college at FSU in 1987/88. Went by that way about a year ago and didn’t look like much had been accomplished in the last 25-30 years.

In Chicago you’d have to skip Ketchup as that is forbidden on a Chicago dog under pain of being asked to leave without being served!!!!

Note: this topic is from 06/26/2017. Thanks Coronal. Looks like a good topic for the weekly digest ping, since I'll probably forget to do this over the weekend. Happy New Year, all.
Shem's Snack Shack sits about a mile away from the Ark Encounter on a road that turns into Williamstown's Main Street. In case you missed the reference to Shem, Noah's son, it’s also the "Home of the Ark Dog" -- two-thirds of a Biblical cubit long...
I think I would open "Ham's Sandwiches", serving non-kosher ham sandwiches (as flatbread wraps) and BLTs. For the Just Desserts, elephant ears.
Also, if I were going to open up a theme park of this kind, it would be all about the Exodus and the big draw would be the simulated parting of the waters. Ya gotta have the action, or the kids don't wanna go. Oh, and bacon. Gotta offer bacon.

It started as a trickle, then a downpour, then a flood!

During my "New England exile", I discovered that MA folks like to add celery salt to their hot dogs -- and grew to like it, myself.

But, aside from that, I'm a well known in MA as "that weird guy who likes mayo on his hot dogs" -- plus chili, onions, and cheddar cheese...

~~~~~~~~~~~
Alas, gout and diabetes have since forced me to forego my "two daily dogs"... :-(
Let’s be honest. The words vacation and Charleston W.Va. don’t exactly go together. Should have thought the business plan through.
