Former NPR CEO opens up about liberal media bias
New York Post ^ | October 21, 2017 | Ken Stern

Most reporters and editors are liberal — a now-dated Pew Research Center poll found that liberals outnumber conservatives in the media by some 5 to 1, and that comports with my own anecdotal experience at National Public Radio. When you are liberal, and everyone else around you is as well, it is easy to fall into groupthink on what stories are important, what sources are legitimate and what the narrative of the day will be.

It is a good read. He is correct in that so many now live within a bubble and can’t understand their neighbors.

Interesting article and surprisingly fair except when he says “None of this justifies the attacks from President Trump, which are terribly inappropriate coming from the head of government.” No President has ever been treated to the negative media bias and daily attacks than President Trump. They may want him to roll over and declare “uncle” but he is too tough and determined to surrender.

Thank you so much for that one crucial bit of information. I saw that guy on Tucker’s show, and thought he was on the level. So much so that I planned on buying the book tomorrow. But if he closes the book by taking a shot at Trump, obviously just to cover his butt and try to insulate himself from criticism by his rabid lib “friends; he can keep his bleep book. Thanks again.

I suspect he got the book title from this 1961 book - he shows with a similar willingness to explore the lives of the ‘other’...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Like_Me

Black Like Me, first published in 1961, is a nonfiction book by white journalist John Howard Griffin recounting his journey in the Deep South of the United States, at a time when African-Americans lived under Racial Segregation. Griffin was a native of Dallas, Texas, who had his skin temporarily darkened to pass as a black man. He traveled for six weeks throughout the racially segregated states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, and Georgia to explore life from the other side of the color line.

I believe “living in a bubble” is being way to kind.

The “News” media today are actively coordinating their attack piece’s with the opposition. Hence, they are not reporting a story. They are a large part of the story. Like any campaign staff, they are told what to say and what to spin.

Agenda has replaced truth as a requirement of the “News” media.

No, that's just the way liberals are, that's why they do that, and that's why all of us are forced to financially support NPR and PBS, plus the fake art orgs.

When honest questions are employed the ratio of conservatives to liberals is approximately 7 to 3.

And I mean honest questions.

Dated is right - liberals probably outnumber conservatives in the media by 20 to 1 at this point.

The man has his eyes opened by going out and seeing and speaking to the Real America, not the Fake Leftist America of the NYT and Wash. Post.

congratulations to Mr. Stern on being honest with himself.

Bah, the head of government isn't sending in troops to attack you or making you wear a special symbol on your shirt so everyone knows you are one of "them". He's using his own first amendment rights (which he doesn't surrender upon taking office) to voice his opinion. As the President would say ... Sad.
