Then-married former NBC employee claims Lauer sexually assaulted her until she passed out in office

Matt Lauer, the disgraced former anchor of NBC's "Today" show who was fired Wednesday for “inappropriate sexual behavior,” once summoned a married female employee to his office, locked the door and sexually assaulted her until she passed out, the New York Times reported after interviewing the accuser.

The alleged incident occurred in 2001. The woman, who was not named in the report, told the Times that she was in her 40s at the time.

According to the report, Lauer was behind his desk and she took a seat in the office. She said he locked the door from a button at his desk and he asked her to unbutton her blouse. She said she complied and claims he got up from his desk, approached her from behind, bent her over his desk and had sex.

Woke up on the floor

Matt Lauer has been terminated from NBC News. On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. As a result, we’ve decided to terminate his employment. pic.twitter.com/1A3UAZpvPb — TODAY (@TODAYshow) November 29, 2017

She claims that she passed out during intercourse and woke up later on the floor in his office. She said Lauer had his assistant take her to a nurse. She told the Times that Lauer never mentioned the encounter with her again and she said she left the network about a year later.

The accuser asked the paper not to identify her in the report. The paper said it contacted her ex-husband who said he remembered the alleged encounter. The two were reportedly separated in 2001 and are now divorced.

The Times report said NBC received at least two more complaints about Lauer after the network announced he was fired prior to Wednesday’s "Today"...

“And her husband did nothing, she never went home and told him? ... if this had happened she would have told her husband...”

It’s common for women to not tell their husbands, or anyone except close friends, about rape. Husbands often blame their wives. Sometimes the marriage suffers forever after. She is often victimized a second time by others because they don’t believe her — a little like what’s going on in some posts here. Sometimes the women weigh their options and decide it’s just not worth it to tell.

Ok, who has a button installed in their office to lock the door? I’m sure he didn’t install it. No one questioned why he needed that button installed? C’mon people, even if it was consensual (which I doubt) more people at NBC knew than what is currently being revealed. Even if they thought it was consensual it’s still not proper in the workplace.

There’s a lot more heads that need to roll at NBC.

THIS is exactly the behavior that Trump was talking about in the locker room recording.

There are other jobs. How about having a little integrity and saying take this job and shove it?

So a particularly brutal and violent rape - have charges been filed with the police?

“Yes, because every time I have consensual sex with my boss I black out as well and have to be revived by co-workers and taken to a nurse for medical treatment.
Happens to all of us. “

Ever see the newer version of The Longest Yard, when Adam Sandler is in the office with Cloris Leachman? Yup, happened here, but I was not in prison.

Republicans and Conservatives live out in the open and do not have anyone in the MSM covering for them. That is why this seems like a leftest problem 90% of the time. Lib socialist assaults girl is a dog bites man story. Not worth reporting.

Sex at work is a firing offense everywhere except porn and whorehouses.

The left promoted a culture of free, no-responsibility sex, and now it’s coming back to haunt them.
The news/entertainment complex preached “get as much as you can, ha ha” for years. Now it’s biting them.
This pretty-face self-adoring leftist is finally getting what he deserves. Many more to go.

“The photo “showed incontrovertible proof of inappropriate sexual behavior on his part.””

would have to be him in the act. just marks on her body would not prove it was him. if of her in his office, that again does not prove it was him.

The intern allegedly provided a photo “which was a major part of the evidence which is why the firing came so quickly.” It “was so damning that they had no other option but to fire him,” a source told the New York Post. The photo “showed incontrovertible proof of inappropriate sexual behavior on his part.”

There's a photo. Do you know what's in the photo? I don't. But the people who do knew it was bad and acted immediately.

Absolutely. You are correct. A woman who is assaulted may rightly feel there are few people to turn to. She knows people will blame her for the assault. The perps rely on this guilt to keep women quiet.

But 2 or 3 incidences in 20 years is still not a pattern of behavior no matter how you try to slice it.

So...why not go to the police? There would have been a TON of evidence - in 2001.

I loathe a lot of these stars (and politicians and others)...but I also loathe the idea someone can make an accusation 15 years later and totally control the narrative.

If you’ve kept silent past the statute of limitations, then I’m not interested. If you’ve been silent that long, keep silent. Because after that, it is all totally one-sided. And that is wrong!

It looks like she had consensual sex, then regretted it later.

Maybe so. He asks her to unbutton her blouse so she does it? All she had to do was scream if it was indeed rape.
