Ohio State played 9 CONFERENCE GAMES, the SEC plays 8 so they can play more cupcakes to pad their resume.

Absolutely, eliminate 1 of the non-conference games and play the quarterfinal game a week after the conference championship, leaving the semis and finals as they are.

One of Ohio State’s non-conference wins ws UNLV, which beat Fresno State that the fraud committee tried to justify Alabama’s no. 5 ranking a week prior by saying they had 3 top 25 wins, Fresno State being at 25. Then both Fresno State and Auburn lose lose this past weekend, Ohio State wins and now Alabama is suddenly so much better. Hmmm...

Since the days of Bear Bryant and Alabama dominating college football, Alabama has had a national fan base.
Bandwagon fans. Like OU, the team gets all the fans who did not attend college so are free to choose any team they like. And they always like the team that gives them the best chance to brag about NC's, even though they have no personal association with the school.
