LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Rep. Dan Johnson, who was under investigation for alleged sexual molestation, has committed suicide.
Bullitt County Sheriff Donnie Tinnell said Johnson shot himself on a bridge on Greenwell Ford Road in Mt. Washington, and the gun was recovered.

You do if you think there us no way to clear your name. Not saying one way or the other, but these accusations are making the Salem witch trials look like birthday parties. The accuser said he was drunk, the accuser said he acted inappropriately and left leaning NPR reported it. Yep, judge and jury right there.
Anyone making accusations found to be false should be arrested for it.

He watched the last days just as we did, he probably saw people he admired acting like witnesses at the Salem witch trials. I’m a pretty strong person but it horrified me, I can’t even imagine how anyone would feel if they were accused. Guilty, not guilty you wouldn’t stand a chance, your loved ones would be drug through the mud with you, no one would stand up for you

Already there are laws against it. What’s missing is the enforcement. All claims have to be vetted. And before “dropping” charges, those that accuse should be tried in the court of law. Ditto for cases that end in acquittal. Then just watch so calles crimes just dissapear.

Tarasaramozart, I concur with your post. I think some folks on this forum should perhaps step out from behind their keyboard and monitor a little more often and have some positive person to person interactions with real human beings outside this virtual bubble.
I feel confident in stating that nobody who has posted in this thread knows whether the accusations are true or not. Yet anonymity seems to breed a self-righteous confidence that gives rise to outright crass belligerence.
How would any of us feel if it were us accused? How would we feel if it were our son, brother, father, grandfather? So far most of the accusations are hitting public figures that are in the abstract to us. However, if the trend continues, it may work its way down to people well-known to us, perhaps even close to us. Will we be so flippant about the outcome then?

EVEN IF THE ALLEGATION WAS TRUE. Trying to kiss a 17 year old is not a f**king pedophile.
Pedophilia or paedophilia is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children.
Pedophilia has a certain age limit. Most states 17 is above age of consent. You make your statement around intelligent people it would be quite awkward for you.
And suicide is not proof of guilt. He was asked to resign based on a single NPR news segment. PSTD and seeing your life destroyed over false accusations, suicide isn’t surprising.
not to mention holiday time is high suicide for depressed people.
Btw, age of consent is 16 in KY.
