Doubt i will be buying one.
And cold climates. and very hot climates.
Blankets will be an accessory if you upgrade to the XL trim package.
Tesla investors don’t value the company on what its worth today, but what it might be worth in the future, if the stars align...because Amazon & Apple.
I saw an interview with Kevin O’leary (one of the billionaires on Shark Tank), where he was asked why he didn’t invest in Tesla. His answer was along the lines of “they build a product with 4 wheels that moves people around. In other words, its just a car company.”
I tend to agree with O’leary. Personally, my interest in what Tesla offers (alleged self driving, over the air software updates, save the world) is below ‘don’t care’...but I can’t ignore that there are legions of mind numbed millenials out there who want to save the polar bears. Just today, a question was floated on a Tesla board about when the almighty government should ban gasoline cars. One day, I might be outnumbered by these guys at the ballot box.
Just imagine your city’s electric grid with everyone charging their car at night. :)
Good points for colder climates. Also, that drop in two years is amazing. Ouch!
Well, there used to be well gas. Not so much refining, but plenty of BTUs. We’ll see how it goes.
Electric blankets?
The problem for Tesla is the elevated cost.
That’s not going to hold up IMO. I don’t think there are that many folks out there who wish to pay a $10-20k premium for the ability to go electric.
They may be nice cars, but absent the government contributions, I don’t think this holds up. I’m not an expert on Tessla, but I don’t see how it keeps going once the government gets tired of the subsidies.
If Ford can come in under Tessla’s price by a wide margin, it may make it in the field, but that’s going to hurt Tessla if it does.
You will need the hamster wheel option if you want the luxury warmth level of comfort. The new cars will need serious thermal insulation for colder climates and screen doors for the tropics.
Yes, that’s also a consideration.
The nice thing about them in cold weather, is that a number of the models are four wheel drive.
Of course the range drops considerably, and I’m not sure how the power reacts.
The internal combustion gas fired engines are amazing.
NY Taxi agencies were driving my Mercury Mariner model upwards of 300-400,000 miles.
How do you beat that?
How do stockholders feel about this earth worship?
I know. I was wondering what asshats buy these electric cars. Our local library has 2 hookup stations, courtesy of the taxpayer. Saw the guy in the Toyota electric hook up. Looked like on of your typical liberal elitist jerks - someone with tons of money to waste.
What brand/model?

I dodged a bullet. Almost bought some Ford stock a while back.
Same here. I remember the “Ice Age is coming!” scares.
I guess there is more money in glowbull warming.
