James Comey Signed FISA Applications Utilizing Same Dossier He Publically Called ‘Salacious...
Breitbart ^ | Feb 2, 2018 | by AARON KLEIN

A four-page House Intelligence Committee memo alleging abuse of surveillance authority raises immediate questions about former FBI Director James Comey’s role in utilizing the infamous, largely discredited 35-page anti-Trump dossier to obtain a FISA court warrant to monitor an individual associated with Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. One glaring possible inconsistency centers on Comey’s June 8, 2017 prepared remarks for the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, where he referred to the anti-Trump dossier as containing “salacious and unverified” material.

Yet, according to the memo crafted by House Republicans, Comey personally signed three FISA court applications utilizing that same dossier that he labeled “salacious and unverified” eight months later to obtain FISA court warrants to conduct surveillance on Carter Page, who briefly served as a volunteer foreign policy adviser to Trump’s 2016 campaign.

The memo documents that on October 21, 2016, the FBI and Justice Department sought and received the FISA order against Page, and that the agencies sought the renewal of the order every 90 days in accordance with court requirements. Renewals require separate finding of probable cause each time, the memo relates.

According to the memo, Comey “signed three FISA applications in question on behalf of the FBI, and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe signed one.” Sally Yates, then-Acting Deputy Attorney Gernal Dana Boente, and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein signed one or more of the applications on behalf of the Justice Department.

Can’t win a war on terror by turning the U.S.A. into a police state with only one effective branch of government. The legislative and executive branches under Clinton and Bush gave their powers away.

Okay, Comey, McCabe and Yates are gone. Why are Boente and Rosenheiny still here?

Unfortunately they have no concern how ridiculous their statements are as long as their followers and bot-nets repeat their ‘drumbeats’ Russia Russia over and over until the election. ...

Every msm News pundit punctuated their remarks with Russia since the memo came out.....

So here is what I am wondering...If RR signed the last FISA against Page under the Title 1, then does that mean that the Deep State is continuing to “wiretap” Trump Whitehouse, Hope HIcks dinner dates and everything once connected to Page, Trump and eventually all the voters that supported Trump.

I am being silly in the last part there, but would Title 1 Fisa allow IC to monitor Whitehouse because at one time Page was tangetially associated with Trump campaign? If so, this is a scary thought.

well let’s expand on that a bit. Let’s add Clapper, Brennen and Rogers to the equation, and do we have an attempt at creating plausible deniability for Zero - that Zero didn’t know nuthin’ until the Pres-Elect was briefed by Comey??? The last sentence below is very important when one considers that the same “unanimous” people telling Trump the dossier was never verified were the exact same ones using the dossier to obtain FISA warrants:

“The Washington Post reported on Wednesday that the intelligence chiefs concluded they had no choice but to include the dossier in the briefing prepared for President Obama and President-elect Trump. Many journalists and lawmakers had seen the document, and they thought Trump and Obama should know that the intelligence agencies were aware of the allegations....The Post reports that Clapper, CIA director John Brennan, FBI chief James Comey, and NSA director Mike Rogers were unanimous in their decision to include a two-page summary of the dossier in an annex to a much larger report on Russia’s alleged election meddling. A U.S. official told the paper the summary “was fully explained” to Trump and “put into context,” to make it clear that the government did not compile the dossier or verify its claims.

Line ‘em up - Former Department of Justice Director Loretta Lynch; former FBI Director James Comey; former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe; former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates; and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein; Peter Strzok, the No. 2 at the FBI’s counter; dossier author Christopher Steele, etc, etc.

I still want to know about a guy named John Carlin. Deputy AG for National Security Division of DOJ. As I understand, all FISA requests in DOJ must pass through this office. This guy was a protege of Mueller and hired by Loretta Lynch. He resigned 5 weeks before election day in 2016. His name is never mentioned even though he would be at the middle of this all.

Comey makes me miss Warden Norton of The Shawshank Redemption who at least had enough honor to kill himself.

James Comey’s picture should be listed under dirty cop in the dictionary.

It looked weird when he just brushed by all the new Hillary related material in what, a week?

That Comey’s weird. Ordure on (in?) the court... those judges should quit too.

James Comey ✔@Comey

That’s it? Dishonest and misleading memo wrecked the House intel committee, destroyed trust with Intelligence Community, damaged relationship with FISA court, and inexcusably exposed classified investigation of an American citizen. For what? DOJ & FBI must keep doing their jobs.

Comey CLEARLY knew about the wiretaps by Obama....and told Trump.......Trump was angry about it and was endlessly ridiculed, and was even expected to "apologize" to Obama for such a fanciful tale. We didn't know even a fraction about what Obama was up to.

WE WERE WARNED--- Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) told Roland Martin in a February interview: "President Obama has put in place an organization with the kind of database that no one has ever seen before in life. That’s going to be very, very powerful,” Waters said. “That database will have information about everything on every individual on ways that it’s never been done before and whoever runs for President on the Democratic ticket has to deal with that. They’re going to go down with that database and the concerns of those people because they can’t get around it. And he’s [President Obama] been very smart. It’s very powerful what he’s leaving in place.”

"a very high opinion of the credibility of Yahoo! News" (emphasis added)

Possibly that would be "of Michael Issikoff," but wouldn't that be the guy with the false representation of a Koran being flushed down a toilet that caused an "ever-so-slightly-unbalanced response?"

An allegation has been made that Issikoff was further paid money through Fusion GPS to do an article on Steele's work.

It has played soothingly to Democrat ears that the dossier was really "oppo research" as if it truly derived from one or more well-meaning people (e.g., Steele, Nellie Ohr) that were looking up previously published tidbits of likely-factual information.

That's not what Steele's representations were about the dossier. It was actually much "thinner gruel." In interviews in his native England, Steele said the dossier was a work of fiction, intended to fuel a whisper campaign.

That monstrosity was never derived from truths, however salacious! It was cut from whole cloth as a harmonized script for the lips of people with more reputation than moral scruples to chat up grist for a rumor-mill, known in advance not to have any basis in fact. Such a whisper campaign parlays and converts reputations of the rumor-instigators for smears against people they already don't like.

McLame's whistling for a gopher to bring a copy to US shores was a labor of (his kind of) love to smear Trump. That the FBI would attempt to pass it off as anything more solid than a whisper campaign shows their mistake right off the bat.

The payment of money and FISC representations seem to show someone's or some group's impetus to concretize that, taking it entirely outside the realm of its provenance, even well before Fusion GPS received DNC or Clinton Foundation money. Steele's original charge (now, by whom would that have come?) was apparently not to write a report on researched facts, but rather something to be used as back-slapping, watering-hole exaggerations or in obvious parody.

The verification process that is still incomplete and so well avoided to have been reported should have told FBI handlers and us how devoid of substance it truly is.

Steele’s dossier and Wolfe’s book were works of fictions intended to blur the lines.
