Rep. Adam Schiff: FISA court knew of political bias, never saw ‘salacious’ part of dossier

Rep. Adam Schiff said Tuesday that the FISA court never saw the more salacious aspects of the dossier. “The salacious video and all that stuff that was not part of the FISA applications, only the parts pertained to Carter Page. And there was corroboration of some of those very important elements,” Mr. Schiff, California Democrat, explained on CNN.

Republicans released a memo Friday, drafted by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, California Republican, regarding the use of an unverified dossier to gather surveillance warrants on some members of Mr. Trump’s campaign team, including former adviser Carter Page.

Mr. Schiff, the ranking member on the committee, said the FISA court — which hears cases for those seeking surveillance warrants — was well aware of the political bias of Christoper Steele, the former British spy who composed the dossier.

“I think the FISA court was made well aware of the potential political bias of those supporting Christopher Steele’s work,” he said.

Houston, we have a problem... If that's the case, we need to impeach a judge or two or three on the FISA court. Political documents with their known bias should not be considered as justification for a warrant by any judge.

The FBI should be angry with the Democrats for lying and playing politics with the agency.

Are Schiff’s eyes popping? If so, he’s lying, as usual.

I don’t believe one word that comes out of Adam Schiff’s mouth.

The phrase “political bias” is injected to pretend the FISA judge was aware that the Hillary campaign and the DNC PAID FOR the dossier.

It is a LIE!

So is Schiffhead illegally leaking talking points from the RAT memo?

Actually, I don’t think the FISA judge gives a bleep. I also think that he was a Trump hater, and the warrant app could have said twinkle, twinkle little star, and he would have rubber stamped it. It’s a SECRET court. So who would ever know?/S

Schiff should be more clear on what he is saying and not saying.

Apparently, there was a footnote in the application to FISC that indicated Steele may have demonstrated political bias against Trump.

What the application did not say is that Trump’s political opponent paid Steele and/or Fusion GPS. By all accounts, that is a material omission.

I saw a great analogy today. How would the SEC view a statement made by a public company to the effect that it was having supply chain issues in South America, versus saying that Venezuela had nationalized the firm’s assets?

There are many ways to lie, which Schiff so amply demonstrates time and time again.

I’ve believed from almost the beginning of this that the FISA judge is complicit in this. If not corrupt, then at the very least incompetent.

"The salacious video..."

What video is he talking about?

"I think the FISA court was made well aware..."

That's one of the problems, Schiff for brains, you don't think, you can't, without a functioning brain stem. And what you think the FISA court was made aware of, or not, is irrelevant. But, never mind, you know this already.

Right.

Had the court seen the obviously fabricated salacious passages, they may have been more inclined to regard the entire instrument as a politically motivated fabrication, which it was.

who cares whether there was a footnote which might have indicated Steele might have been politically motivated.

the FISA judge was allegedly not told Clinton/DNC PAID for Steele’s “dossier”. THAT IS THE BIG STORY.

The salacious parts go DIRECTLY to the credibility of the info. Cherry-picking select data can make ANY information seem “credible”.

Thank you Mr Schiff for confirming that the FBI did not present all the relevant info.
