President Donald Trump quickly signed the Congressional two-year spending deal on Friday, just hours after it passed the House of Representatives in an early morning vote. Just signed Bill, Trump announced on Twitter. Our Military will now be stronger than ever before.
The president focused on the big boost to military spending as a win for Republicans.
We love and need our Military and gave them everything and more, he wrote. First time this has happened in a long time. Also means JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!
The Republican budget deal with Democrats raises spending by $300 billion roughly $165 billion in military spending and $131 billion to domestic spending. The bill also offers $90 billion in hurricane relief for Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico.
Trump acknowledged that the bill was expensive, but appeared to accept it as part of the dealmaking process. He urged Americans to vote for more Republicans in 2018.

Well said!
Thats right. Well fight the good fight for fiscal responsibility next time. Oh, wait...
An immigration bill will come later. Trump wants the wall, Democrats want DACA.
There’s a deal to be made.
Trump called for two things in his SOTU address.
Infrastructure and military spending.
The Democrats just gave it to him. Yup, for him that’s a big victory.
Proof he gets things done.
Well, so much for fiscal responsibility coming from Trump or the Repubs.
“What happens to the money if Trump does not spend it?”
BINGO! It’s only a budget. Trump doesn’t have to spend it and he won’t. He’ll redirect it and under-spend it while eliminating more regulations and duplicate agencies. He’s always been an “early completion, under cost” kinda guy.
I agree about the hypocrisy.
The reality is NO politician is going to cut spending in an election year.
Will never happen.
You really can’t stop the rush to economic collapse. Not in a democracy anyway. And as we’re discovering, not even in our constitutional republic. Congress is not the problem. The voters are.
This means you get what you can to keep the can sufficiently kicked down the road until you run out of road.
i.e. I’m very pragmatic about this one. Sure, we’re doomed, but at least we’re stopping the progressives’ social change gaunlet and getting some of the money steered in the right direction.
Yep. Bush presided over the largest single year federal budget deficit in history - $1.4 trillion. It appears that this Republican Congress is bound and determined to beat that. I know that the President likes to take credit for the biggest and the best of everything, but I'd rather Trump not get saddled with that one.
Calling all turd polishers spill in isle 13.
Sadly, I believe that could be the outcome. I can’t really understand why this could do anything but help the Democrats in the midterms. So now the can all move on to the amnesty for all program.
Never let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Trump has to fight a thousand separate battles and limited compromise is inevitable. You should be a purist in your goals and principles but reality cant completely be molded to our wishes.

Like I said last night, if someone showed me a pain-free way to smaller government, Id be all for it.
Bush had a majority of Republicans, and they increased government too. Get rid of McConnell and Ryan.
The wall can also be made through alternative funding like seized assets from illicit activities.
Who has always shown fiscal responsibility, delivering on time and under cost? Who won the election on a veritable shoestring compared to the Dem’s spending? Oh Ye of little Faith!!!!!!!

Good points. Trump has actually been reducing non-military federal employment, something even Reagan failed to do. He has cut regulations and delivered tax reform and has humiliated democrats over their attempts to use gov’t shutdown as a weapon. This is a big win.
“Who tied the wall to DACA? Democrats that’s who and Trump fell for it.”
bullshit. You’re spouting total here lies again.
Trump himself tied the wall, chain immigration and lottery visas to DACA and the Dems fell for it, hence the Dems ill-fated government shutdown in which they lost all face and lost all future negotiating ability on the subject.
Fair enough but the Trumpster didn't have to go along with that scenario.
