“Before we had SS, income tax, Fed. Reserve, Dept of XYZ, massive state of bureaucracy.”

So true, and before we had a huge number of lawyers per capita. And lawyers were behind all those profit-sucking, growth-killing things you note.

Back in the 70’s my stamping plant in Detroit used to make aluminum truck cabs which could only be tig welded. It was a major pain so we eventually shipped the work to Mexico along with the division manager. Never saw him again....LOL!

China has an 80% share of the USA and Garlic sales.

Here in Gilroy, we smell processing but, while Gilroy is known as the garlic capital of the world, only 40 acres are grown here.

I looked for but did not find this open air stockpile on Google Earth but I did see a lot of other eye opening things that I knew were there but did not know just were or how much. Deep in the heart of Mexico. Industry. Lots and lots of industry. Big household names that we buy from here in the US of course. We exported our jobs and took in their poor to feed and take care of.

What a bunch of chumps we are. Stupid chumps.

I grew 2 x 15 foot rows of hardneck garlic last year (in Michigan). Came to about 70 healthy cloves, which I am still enjoying today.

If some yokel like me can grow garlic so easily, why are we buying garlic from the Chinese?

Wilson brought forth a lot of the wet dreams of the progressives and probably started us into our economic depression.

FDR would have finished us off with his progressive wet dreams, but the second world war derailed him and his democrats.

Since, then with the exception of Ike, Reagan and now President Trump, the progressives have had their way with us.

We need to battle the Deep State/Progressives who want to destroy or weaken America to a non power country.

Seems like lots of "dirty" industries went south - smelting, foundries, steel mills, etc. I'd guess the "stockpile" went there to be processed, then was shipped to US. Whether Customs knew about it, I dunno.

"...steel, honey, garlic and other Chinese products..."

I would NEVER buy any food products originating in China. Not even pet food or bird seed.

TARIFF BAN

The tariff equivalent is imagine the money windfall if privileged native citizens could buy & sell by ignoring all USA laws.

Sell you “free” music & videos on the street corner. Others simply could not compete and you would all lose your jobs.

Sell pot. Sell rotten food. Sell illegal pharma drugs.
Sell broken car brakes.
Sell prostitution. Sell stolen Walmart goods.
Sell your neighbor’s car.

If China can, why cannot I??

Very true about the environmental regs in Mexico. My company Lockheed was seriously considering a launch site in Mexico (when they were also considering entering the private space launch business). The Mexican rules would have saved enough money to justify shipping things to Mexico for equatorial launches that currently are done at Cape Canaveral.

When I worked at Lockheed we actually had a huge refrigerator to keep the parts cold and ductile so we could shape them properly before they had a chance to age harden.

Then later I used to heat up the parts again.

I do rely mainly on COOL, but also some "Made in America" web sites, and we produce a good amount of our own vegetables (and lots of garlic) in our yard. Friends make honey, and we rely on other locally produced sources.

Chicken raised in America, and processed in (presumably) filthy Chinese factories where USFDA inspectors are banned can still be labeled as “Product of America”.

Congress made sure of that.

Thanks guys.
