The media is out of control in its push for gun control
The Hill ^ | March 16, 2018 | John R. Lott, Jr.

Fact checkers are out of control, and on the issue of guns they no longer even try to pretend impartiality. Especially on social media, this is becoming a serious problem.

Facebook has been working with organizations such as PolitiFact, Snopes and Factcheck.org to filter news. Stories deemed “false” by these organization are labeled as false and are much more difficult to spread virally.

Yes. 1963 was the start of demands for registration of all guns and a ban on 5 shot bolt action army surplus rifles but it didn’t take off till 1968 with the murder of Bobby Kennedy coming so soon on the heels of the Martin Luther King.

“The media is out of control in its push for gun control”

That’s a fact. The leftist media believes that once the order is given to confiscate arms, that 10-foot-tall government Rambos will rise and carry out the confiscation. Even a smattering of simpleton comicbook readers here on FR believe that BS.

A billion bullets owned by the federal government doesn’t confer combat capability.

I always urge people to take a walk through any federal bureaucracy office and look for themselves. Then come back and tell us how comfortable you, as a general, would be leading these fat, potato chip-munching, low IQ blobs onto a battlefield.

I still remember both Sears & Monkey Wards for fall 1963 offered surplus Argentine Mausers, French MAS 36s & some others for under $30.

I was 15 & broke. But Dad brought me a M1903A3 Springfield that the local college ROTC was giving away. That Christmas he gave me a Remington 870 which I still have.

By 1968 it was “you can keep your long guns, we just want to ban handguns. At least a national registry & licensing of owners, is that too much to ask?”

For those old timers out there, it was worse after the murder of Bobby Kennedy back in 1968.

You are Spot On. I remember when that happened and the next thing I saw was a full page magazine ad showing a man's neck cross-haired in the sniper scope, with a screaming banner "CONTACT YOUR SENATOR WHILE YOU STILL HAVE ONE!" By the Brady Bunch, naturally.

"Back on topic, listen to the hate-filled tweets of John Brennan against Pres. Trump; they’re aimed at you. Don’t think for a second that Brennan wouldn’t like to wreak revenge on flyover country for rejecting the Hildabitch."

Yes.

John O. Brennan

Excerpt:
In 1976, he voted for Communist Party USA candidate Gus Hall in the presidential election; he later said that he viewed it as a way "of signaling my unhappiness with the system, and the need for change."[19]

Dr. Lott writes a whale of an article. But he needs a better proofreader.
