Brooks Suggests Republicans Are Retiring Because of Assassination Fears
Roll call ^ | 4/272018 | Eric M Garcia

Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks suggested in a radio interview that Republicans are retiring en masse because of assassination fears.

. . . .

But Brooks said while there were multiple factors that contributed to a slew of Republicans leaving the House, he suggested fears of violence was a major one.

“One of the things that’s concerning me is the assassination risk may become a factor,” he said.

. . . .

“Notice a trend here?” he said. “I have a congressman who is a friend here who has a three-year old daughter whose daughter was threatened with murder.”

He also said the “socialist Bernie Sanders wing of society” was pushing for a revolution that would lead to Maoist level of violence. . . .

I would disagree (I will admit that Brooks is my Ala Representative and generally agree with him).

I think the job of being a Representative used to be pretty simple, and laid back. In the past decade? Much less so, with lobbyists and citizens on your back twenty-four hours a day. You have to continually worry about the next election (every two years) and where the campaign money will come from, or if you will face some primary challenge.

I have a much more rational but disturbing explanation.

They intend to raise gasoline taxes, probably in a lame duck session after the election in November.

One of the clowns leaving heads up the Transportation Committee which would put the new tax bill onto the floor of the House.

Congressman Bill Shuster of PA was talking about this gas tax as a means to fund infrastructure earlier this year.

Brooks sounds off the wall. Then again, you have what happened to Steve Scalise. All of the GOP House delegation was targeted, and the carnage would have been greater without the quick intervention of the security team charged with protecting them.

Sitting on your fat arse collecting your paycheck, sporting with the DC groupies, and living the highlife is one thing. Taking the Oath to God and Country and putting on the uniform and a game face is quite another thing. We have mostly wusses in DC in the GOP ranks. We better get better at choosing our representation. They want the the fight, maybe we will have to give it to them. Losing the left won’t bother me.
I swore the oath in 1971 and I didn’t I unswear it.

As has been pointed out by others, the Republicans asked the voters to support them. The voters responded by giving the Republicans the Presidency, the House, and the Senate. Then, many Republicans have responded with inaction, crying, hiding, and cowering. What a disgrace.

How is this insanity possible in this country? The progressive communist intillectuals want mob rule to bring about a make over of government. Mob rule includes terrorism. Islam includes terrorism. The democrat political party with the KKK used terrorism. In the 21st century, the Black Lives Matter crowd is a new form of terrorism. The progressive white elite college professors endorce terrorism. The TV late nite TV host endorse terrorism. In other words, “terrorism is the new fassion statement.” It is hip. And it is revolutionary and evolutionary. The question is, “will it win or will it be defeated.” My central thought is that I hope Satan will be defeated.

That was objectively rhetorical and animated as a fantasy of political suicide

That exact thing happened in Georgia. A State Senator pushed a 30cents/gallon tax thru the legislature, to fund the states Infrastructure Fund. Of course, there was some opposition and people pushed for either a, 2cent-sales tax or 30%/gallon tax.

The 30%/gallon was shot down because the monies would fluctuate with the price of gas. 30cents/gallon was the same every gallon.

2cent sales tax was shot down because he and his supporters said that drivers should bear the brunt of it, since they’re the ones using the roads. Of course, no one else used the roads. No one else buys products that were delivered by truck, cars, vans, etc. Everyone else lives off the grid, grows their own food and makes their own clothes.

When he was pushing for it, he stated that if his constituents didn’t like it, they could just not vote for him. It passed, was signed into law by the scumbag governor and lo and behold, the Senator resigned the next day. He had a handpicked successor who lost in an embarrassing fashion in the special election. The guy who won the seat, who railed against the tax, has yet to do anything to repeal it.

The main reason is that they are resigning is because they have been told to by the patriots who are taking over. It’s simple get out or be prosecuted.

That is absurd. Patriots are taking over? Other than Trump there is not a single patriot in government. Prosecuted? Who is going to prosecute anyone? Not a single criminal in govt right now has been or will be prosecuted. The Republicans are resigning and fleeing because they see the writing on the wall. Trump is surrounded by enemies and traitors and the Deep State is too powerful to fight so they’re getting out while the getting good.

Yep, Thanks Admiral Rodgers. You sir are a true patriot.

The quitters? Idiots hoisted on their very own Utah Data Center petard.

Tools can be used for good or for evil. Who was the first one to figure out you could throw a rock at an antelope and feed your tribe? Who was the first one to figure out you could throw it at the tribal leader and take over?
