Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said on Sunday that he found it strange that President Trump had difficulty getting along with U.S. allies, but comfortable speaking with authoritarian leaders.
"I find it very strange that President Trump has such a hard time getting along with the leaders of the world's major democracies but feels very comfortable with despots and authoritarian leaders like Putin, Xi Jinping, Duterte and Mohammad Bin Salman," Sanders said in a tweet.

We need to repeal the ill-conceived 17th Amendment.
The 16th Amendment can disappear too.
It’s amusing that the same one word answer works very well as a response to virtually everything liberals say about conservatives today:
“And?”
Don't laugh but he also wrote screenplays for pornographic films back in the day.
Bernie, Bernie, Bernie.
As if comfort was Trumps big concern as opposed to avoiding nuclear war. And it is worth noting that your statement is total hogwash anyway.
Socialists are going to get us killed someday if we dont make a major cut in the influence that, amazingly, they still manage to hold over a signicant percentage of the American public, 99% of the media and most our universities.
Is Bern including Maduro in his list of Democratic leaders?
Bernie pulled that one outa.............
What major piece of legislation has this dope ever sponsored?
Regular Americans.
Trump is likely to be comfortable with those who will entertain his ideas on the expansion of freedoms. Authoritarian leaders know from experience that control doesn’t bring them everything they want, so they listen, even if they’ll never change.
Democrat leaders reap votes with promises they won’t be able to keep, and they “know” when they get things running exactly like the utopia in their head, the world will be perfect. They don’t have to listen to anyone else to achieve their perfect world, just insist authoritatively that everything be done their way, for the benefit of all or course.
Bernie loved him some Chavez.
Who is that commie in Nicaragua who swapped spit with Bernie?
5.56mm
It’s really not that strange when you realize that, since he is not a career politician, Trump has a very low tolerance for bullsh!t. If there is a tragic flaw in the republican form of government with democratically elected politicians, it is that politicians are, by their nature, bullsh!t artists. Authoritarians might be evil and they might be duplicitous on various issues, but they are less likely to be full of bullsh!t on virtually every issue. It’s much easier to deal with a counterparty who you know is acting in self-interest even if it is opposed to your own interest than it is to deal with a two-faced backstabber.
Standard liberal projection.....
Yes. Yes it is.
Thank-you for taking the time to read my comment and respond.
How’s that new waterfront house working out for you this summer, Bernie?
Didnt Bernie spend his honeymoon in Russia when it was, like, communist?
Imagine an old Red Commie like Bernie criticizing “ authoritarianism”?
Pelosi looked pretty comfy with Assad...
And Kerry looked comfy with Ortega...
Clintons and Gore looked tight with the Chinese...
It’s only strange, Bernie, because you’re looking at it with your head jammed into your keister.
Lol, said by a socialist.
Bernie, the authoritarian wannabe.
Hey, Bernie, you dimwit. Talk about dictators, how about your brotherhood with Lenin and Stalin? Huh?
