I am just saying that just like back in the days of picking cotton, the easy immediate solution has tremendous and high long-term costs.

For what it’s worth I farmed for many years with about 12 employees.

The problem is, e-Verify may come back with an OK for the SS number supplied, but cannot absolutely assure that the person standing in front of you is the legitimate owner of that SS#.

Sir, your are partially correct: “The Legal Juan would cost your hypothetical employer 30% More”! Yes and the Illegal Juan simply costs the TAXPAYER 30% more!

It is the Taxpayer who pays when Juan is sick and requires medical care! It is the Taxpayer that is cheated out of the Income Tax and MEDICARE that “Illegal Juan” does not pay! It is the State and Local Taxpayer who fund for Juan’s kids medical care and education!

All so this Big Corporate Farm can make more profit by hiring Illegals! Everyone working at that farm knew he was Illegal and said nothing!

Every Illegal Alien is cheating an American Citizen out of his fair working wage while the American Taxpayer covers the cost for Unemployment and Welfare for the American Worker!

The only winner in this story is the Corporate Farm Owner who made more profit while screwing his fellow countrymen!

Day labor is hard to find. Ag jobs used to be filled by citizens but citizens need full time work or at least very steady part time. Citizens were doing ag work, my family did ag work until they were replaced by illegals.

It will be hard to shift back to citizens, it has been many years so likely those experienced will no longer be in the work force.

That mantra that citizens won’t do dirty or hard work is completely bogus though. Just think for a moment all the nasty hard jobs you can think of that are done by someone every day. Many citizens do manual labor, dirty jobs- there is even a TV show. I personally have done nearly every job illegals do in my lifetime. I personally know people right now that are doing jobs illegals do. Illegals are not the only ag workers now, so there already are citizens working ag jobs. The way illegals get hired is after the first one is hired they recommend family and friends. Do the same with citizens, ask them who they know that will work.

The issue is not that citizens won’t do the work. The issues are citizens would require more pay, possibly more uniform work- meaning full time though day labor can be found it is hard. Seasonal and day labor is the hardest to fill because often people take those jobs because they really don’t want to work and ambitious people need a real job.

The problems can be solved, it will require a change over but will be worth it in the long run. Working illegals save money- but guess what it is illegal.

No, the purpose of E-Verify was to make it look like the government was doing something.

"Needs to be called MOLLY’S WALL"

A good idea, but even better, should be: Kate and Molly's Wall.

Kate's last words on this earth were "Help Me, Dad!" as she died in her fathers arms.

Gives me chills every time I think about that.

More citizens need to care about this enough to put an end to this illegal "immigration" self inflicted catastrophe.

I wonder how many other ILLEGAL ALIENS were put into the E-Verify system during the Obama years? I wonder what state gave him a drivers license?

bet you a lot of money we’ll never get the answers.

This will certainly be investigated after all of the publicity this case has gotten.

And now we know why e-Verify didn't work on this guy:

Mexican man charged in Iowa slaying worked under fake name
