Ted Bundy, though dead for 30 years, is again having his moment in the spotlight. In 2019, the serial killer — who brutally raped and murdered at least 36 women — is the subject of a new four-part docuseries on Netflix, Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, and will be portrayed by a chiseled Zac Efron in the film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, which will be released in theaters on January 26.
In both the docuseries and the film, Bundy is painted as an artful, handsome, and exceptionally intelligent man; one whom you would never, ever think was capable of bludgeoning women to death and then having sex with their corpses. In the movie’s trailer, Efron’s Bundy smirks, winks, seductively takes off his shirt, and passionately rips off a woman's blouse...
But the Ted Bundy of America’s consciousness is a myth. Bundy was not special, he was not smarter than the average person; he did not have a personality so alluring that his female victims could not help but simply go off with him. He did not have a superhuman skill to be one step ahead of the police. What Bundy did have was the power of of being a white man in a society that reveres them and has implicit faith in their abilities. This privilege gave Bundy the ability to make even the most heinous of crimes take second place to his personality. Bundy isn’t even exceptional when compared to other American serial killers. So why is his legacy treated with fascination and twisted admiration rather than condemnation? ...

If Ted Bundy really wanted to kill a LOT of people he should have gotten into politics. One “good intention policy” can kill many hundreds if not thousands.
Technically, he died for the 1978 murder of 12-year-old Kimberly Leach of Lake City, whom he left dead under a collapsed hog shed.

There was a student at my small college whose sister was in the FSU sorority house the night Bundy went psycho.
She was in a different part of the house and was unharmed but it messed her up mentally and she dropped out of school.
Ted wanted the intensity of the personal touch.
So, is she angry that he did not kill black women? smh
Bundy was evil, his color had nothing to do with it. Being a psychopath did.

I’m surprised Mark Harmon went onto such a successful career after playing Bundy in the movie.
Bruce Dern’s leading man potential went into the toilet after killing John Wayne’s character in The Cowboys.
Bundy was an idiot. He should have been a gynecologist and could have killed as many of the most innocent as he wanted.
She must be in awe of white men. Clearly, she is consumed by them. Otherwise, there would be no mention of his race.
Yes! Why didn’t “white privilege” cut both ways if his victims were all white — why didn’t the outrage factor outmatch the privilege factor, so to speak?
If a black man “acts white” and thereby succeeds, what’s that called? Being an Uncle Tom?
It’s crazy the kind of tripe that can get published so long as it fits the narrative. Bundy was given “leeway” that would’ve been denied a black man in similar circumstances. OK . . . so Bundy got the death penalty. What’s worse?

Yes indeed. He was accepted into two different law schools in the early 70s, before the LSATs were custom fit for diversity.
Bundy was a sociopath. Period. His big technique was to wear a caste on his arm and ask young girls to assist him with opening a door etc.

There is a show on Netflix called “Mind Hunters” about the start of the FBI’s interest in serial killers. (Well, two guys from the FBI were interested.)
They interview the guys in prison, and solve other cases along the way. The interviews are based (maybe word for word?) using the old tapes.
The first killer they interview (the killers all look exactly like the actual killer) talks about how stressful it is doing everything right and not getting caught.
“I don’t think you realize how difficult and stressful my vocation is.”
“Your vocation?”
“Well, what would you call it? I think it is certainly more than just a hobby.”
So. Bundy had White Privilege.
And that’s why he killed all them women.
