“Prosecutors warn there is evidence that does not support criminal charge in George Floyd killing”

that’s really not a problem because they can always just railroad these guys if necessary like they did the cops in Baltimore ...

OTOH, “we have evidence but can’t release it right now” is *sometimes* codespeak for “we need more time to get our stiry straight.”

” can’t believe that the district attorney would have made that comment just off the cuff. I think that is a very deliberate way of laying the groundwork to lower expectations for an indictment. Having prosecuted and defended dozens of murder cases, I know from experience that prosecutors don’t make those kinds of statements lightly.”

He later said he was. misinterpreted. Talking generically and. not about specific evidence related to this case.

“Why have the officers been fired then?” Violation of social distancing policy.

Please consider that in Progressive Ghettos that Police Chiefs are appointed political sock puppets and not really professionals. Additionally, a large percentage of the force are “diversity” hires, others who could not get hired elsewhere and others who were not tolerated elsewhere.

you picked on the wrong guy.

Knee between solder blades. one cop on each leg one on on the cuffs to control hands and upper body. Taser. If needbe. Most people prefer being tased to being choked to death.

28 years in corrections. use of force instructor, manager of the training academy supervised use of force trainers, reviewer of use of force incidents, disciplined officers for inappropriate use of force. Reviewed over 100 videos and hundreds of use of force reports. Upheld in court and at State personnel board appeals.

8 years with DOCs in 15 states training in use of force policies including lethal.

Cite me an agency where knee on neck with a cuffed suspect for 5 minutes with 3 other cops is appropriate. Since you know that you’re talking about.

Then you should know better to make such statements before all the facts are in.

I am only addressing the knee on the neck for 5 minutes. you should know better than to call people ignorant. We know the guy was cuffed. We know there were four officers. i addressed a better and less lethal procedure as you accused me of not knowing.

When i see the evidence the DA is looking at, I’ll have a concussion.

The department has already dismissed the officers. you can’t dismiss officers after probation without cause. But you don’t understand that either.

Go insult someone else. Or stay and continue to insult me by yourself.

In this case toxicology would take one day. This is a priority case. I don’t know the answer to your question. They haven’t released toxicology results

Yes, it could make a big difference. It could make a big difference as to individual officers. Hypothetically, suppose that the autopsy comes back and says that the victim died from a drug overdose and not from the way the police officers handled him physically. That’s not murder. They probably couldn’t even prove assault. Again, I’m not making any firm conclusions. Until I see an autopsy, and until I see a video of what happened that prompted the officers to be on top of this guy, I’m withholding judgment.

Knee between solder blades.

So how does the head guy get his knee on the shoulder blade.

Considering this subject is lifting his right shoulder and moving his head, around talking his face isn’t smashed into the ground.

Would seem indications the pressure is more on the left shoulder area and not the neck.

I think he chose his words carefully. That’s a bizarre thing for a district attorney to say. If he said we are examining all of the evidence, I could understand that. I think he is quite clearly suggesting that this case isn’t as airtight as everybody thinks it is. But, again, I’m not reaching any firm conclusions. I do find it quite strange that the medical examiner was unable to determine a cause of death yet without the need for further testing.

You make a good point. That is why I want to see the autopsy and video that shows why the police officers got on top of this guy in the first place. Was he flailing uncontrollably? Did they think he was a danger to himself or others? It is somewhat puzzling the three officers would be on top of this guy while he is handcuffed if all he was doing was refusing to get into the police vehicle. Again, I would be lying if I said I knew the answer to all of these questions.

Thank you for the comment. I read the local news reports. It seem to me that their clarification did not really retract the district attorney’s statement. I will say this. Either this D A made a monumental gaffe or he was laying the groundwork to lower expectations as to possible charges. What he said would be completely bizarre for a district attorney to say. I think he said it deliberately. My educated guess, and mind you this is just a guess, is that he was referring to the autopsy which is still pending.
