The Supreme Court ruled Monday that a landmark civil rights law protects gay and transgender workers from workplace discrimination, handing the movement for L.G.B.T. equality a stunning victory.
The vote was 6 to 3, with Justice Neil M. Gorsuch writing the majority opinion. He was joined by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen G. Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.
The case concerned Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which bars employment discrimination based on race, religion, national origin and sex. The question for the justices was whether that last prohibition — discrimination “because of sex”— applies to many millions of gay and transgender workers. It is hard to overstate the magnitude of this decision, and the size of the loss to religious and social conservatives. SCOTUS, the highest legal authority in the land, has declared that homosexuality and transgenderism are like race. If you disagree, you are on the side of Klansmen, in effect. This is not just the opinion of Democratic lawmakers, or columnists at The New York Times. This is now the law of the land. And it became the law of the land thanks to two Republican justices, Roberts and Gorsuch, who were loyal to their class in the clutch.

Sorry, but the ruling was about employment, not whether or not a man can use a women’s shower.
An employer can still make whatever rules it wants. That means if the company says no special pronouns as a condition of employment with them, they can.
For instance, if a school says a teacher may not discuss politics, or sexuality of any kind as part of his teaching, then he keeps his preferences to himself.

I doubt that’s really the story. Rush can’t bring himself to address the perfidy of the uniparty GOPe that he has been so cozy with. It is clear to me now that the Federalist Society judges that are supposed to be so conservative aren’t that. I take it to be more a plan for getting moderate/flippable judges named by GOP presidents who then at the right time go liberal.

I would change one thing. Label bathrooms, locker rooms and other public facilities by sex and not gender.

I would assume people will not want to send their families bodies to that funeral home. Eventually the home would go out of business, which is their loss.

Your DNA IS your DNA. But the ‘research studies’ back in the 90’s that ‘found’ that being gay is genetic have been refuted and are no longer cited.....except in Big Media and by die hard Liberals. The two ‘independent’ studies that found the ‘genetic link’ were NOT independent......and both were done by gay doctors. But you will never get Big Media or ANY LIB to admit that. The 2 most important influences on the personality disorder known as homosexuality are 1. Being brought up my only the mother, no dad in the home and 2. Being sexually assaulted by another male while under age 10. And even over age ten.......it’s called ‘imprinting’. Your first sexual experience tends to have a great influence over your eventual Sexual preferences.
One’s sexual fetishes does not make an identity. Some people like the pull hair and bite. Should they be a protected class?

The events around SCOTUS create an inevitable backlash. There’s no backlash to this week’s 2nd Amendment & gay civil rights cases.
The lefty judges act as if they are mainstream. During their confirmation.
If we have fake conservatives acting like originalists, we get the backlash without the benefit. Perhaps what we could try is some hard-line originalists acting like moderates. Until they get 6 on the court. Then they come out of the closet.
But the bottom line is that the politics of the country hasn’t permitted 6 originalists to be put on the court. Maybe next year. Currently, The majority of voters aren’t fed up with the judicial activists.
So why was it we stopped Merrick Garland from being confirmed as an associate justice again?
All I can hope that, after this ruling, the Left won't move on to banning Deliverance.
