Does anyone remember how Vietnam vets were treated by almost all democrats during and after the war?

Posted on 09/05/2020 1:40:31 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We were spat upon and called war criminals, baby killers and every name in the book. Wannabe president John F'n Kerry even accused our guys of cutting off ears and wiring up testicals, etc. Very few democrats--civilian or elected--respected the troops or gave us any support whatsoever.

Remember Fonda posing for the communist VC? Most of these traitors still hate our vets and troops today.

Same thing happened when we went to war under President Bush. The traitorous democrats went to war against our troops.

Good to see the traitor democrats finally rushing in to support our troops (even if only for political expediency).

They'll continue kneeling for the Anthem, burning our flag and calling for death to America after this blows over.

There’s no one singing war songs now like people used to do,
No “Over There,” no “Praise the Lord,” no “Glory Hallelu.”
Perhaps at last we’ve asked ourselves what we should have asked before,
With the pain and death this madness brings, what were we ever singing for?

Small pictures of Hillary, Kamala, Biden and others would look appropriate in all kinds of public urinals and toilets, especially women’s public toilets. Enemy logos (Antifa, Refuse Fascism, etc.) would work, too.

Yes...

And they weren’t ashamed of it.

Now they try to pin stuff like that on Trump. Why? I mean
they thought it was great when they were actually doing it.

Look at what Kerry tried to pin on the members of the
military in his day. He was so well thought of, they
ran him for president.

Isn’t it a hoot when Leftists try to act like they are
the defenders of the military?

A$$holes...

BTW: it didn’t matter if a guy had been to Nam or not - the uniform, the haircut was all they needed to see to unload their vile hatred

Probably best done early in the morning on election day.

March 1965, 3,500 U.S. Marines landed in South Vietnam. They were the first
American combat troops on the ground. By 1968, more than 500,000 U.S.
troops were in the country. Early in 1968, North Vietnamese troops and the
Viet Cong launched the largest battle of the Vietnam War, attacking more than
100 cities simultaneously with more than 80,000 fighters.

Whoever is writing their propaganda script is a demonic genius.

In order to get attention, you switch to something the patriots believe in and accuse the president of disparaging that, no matter how preposterous. In fact, the more preposterous the better, for added airplay when the patriots contest it.

Just as false as every other propaganda statement they make but coming from an unexpected angle. The result: media attention.

Was doing a blank shoot with the howitzers to the 1812 overture here in ny for the Fourth of July.
99 I think it was.
Reporter for the Times Herald Record tells my Gunny that we are rapists and murderers.
The Gunny grabbed him and dragged him away because we were going to encircle and stomp him.
Once safely away, Gunny explained that he heard that same crap when he came home from Vietnam and wasn’t going to stand for it now, also explained that we were going to stomp him for his attitude for general principle.

Fast forward a bit, Vietnam Mobile Wall is in Matamoras PA.
Times Herald Record reporter is telling the guy in charge of the wall “the THR has ALWAYS supported the military.”
I interject “Yeah, that’s why YOU told us we were rapists and murderers on the Fourth of July 1812 overture blank shoot, right?”
I have personal animosity and dealings with that newspaper outside of the uniform, so it felt good to me to do that.
Times Herald Record is left owned and operated last I checked.

My biggest disappointment came from fellow Vets. When I got out I went to trade school where about half the students were Vietnam Vets. We go together and joined the local VFW.

The older members avoided us like we had the plague. A couple of us were sitting at the bar, and we asked this one old dude what their problem was, and he said they hated us because we were losing the Vietnam war. The year was 1971, the place was Watertown, SD and the old coots were WWII vets.

None of us ever went back again and I never joined a service organization until 2017.

They leaked his phone calls when he first took office. Comey leaked to the press to push for a Special Counsel. They leaked his phone call with the Ukraine President within a short period of time after it took place. His enemies were leaking all over the place, on a daily basis. Does anybody really think that if President Trump said any of what he is supposed to have said in public, in France, TWO YEARS ago, that it wouldn’t have been leaked before now? It’s B.S., plain and simple.

I am a USMC Viet Nam vet. Put in a rough 13 months there.
I will never forget the greeting we got when our plane landed at Travis Air Force, California at 2:00 a.m.
We exited the plane and as we walked toward the fence gates we could hear a lot of voices and noise. The fellow walking next to me said: wow, there’s lots of people here to greet us home in the middle of the night. As we got closer to the crowd on the other side of the cyclone fence, all the F-bombs and rotten vegetables came flying.

What I recently posted on FB -

I am a Constitutional conservative. I am also a Christian (a weak one) who believes the Lord Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, is the Son of God, and was crucified on the cross for the sins of humanity. I support Republican candidates because when they campaign, they profess the same beliefs as I. Over the decades, many Republican politicians have sided more with Democrats than with the conservative constituents that elected them to office. Certain Republican politicians (John McCain comes to mind) derisively referred to me and those in line with my beliefs as Hobbits. I consider the current political class throughout the Nation as belonging to a uni-party, not interested in helping and protecting the Nation, but instead interested only in lining their own pockets. It is eye-opening to see the millionaires in the Senate and House from both political camps. When first elected, many of them were not millionaires. How do you become a millionaire on their salary?

To supply a better understanding of why I support the Republican Party, I offer the following reasons. These reasons are not propaganda, but my opinions from what I have seen and read over the decades:

I have seen a political party that cannot say “under God” when reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

I have seen a political party during their 2008 convention deny God three times.

I have seen a political party with politicians that cannot say “our Creator” when quoting the Declaration of Independence.

I have seen a political party with politicians that at times refuse to wear a flag pin on the lapel of their suit jacket.

I have seen a political party turn a blind eye away from protesters who riot, vandalize, topple statues, verbally and physically assault people, and even commit murder.

I have seen the mayors and governors of a political party allow their supporters to attack the police and burn and vandalize their cities.

I have seen friends cowed; afraid to voice their opinion, afraid to show their support for their candidates, because they are afraid of their homes being vandalized, their cars being keyed, their employment threatened by people who belong to a certain political party.

I have seen those who belong to a certain political party spit on our military Service members, spit on and attack our police officers, steal yard signs, and vandalize homes of those supporting the opposition.

I have debated individuals who belong to a certain political party who resort to cursing me and calling me vile names.

I have seen politicians from a certain political party that refuse to place their hand over their heart during the playing of the National Anthem.

I have seen individuals who support a certain political party stomp on, spit on, and burn the U.S. Flag.

I have heard politicians from a certain political party refer to U.S. military personnel as stupid or dumb.

I have read of and heard politicians and supporters of a certain political party refer to their opposition as stupid, lazy, incompetent, or unpresidential (they said this of Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Barry Goldwater, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Robert Dole, George W. Bush, John McCain, Mitt Romney, and now President Donald Trump). The same playbook for over 70 years.

I have seen Jane Fonda, who supports this political party, in the seat of an anti-aircraft cannon belonging to our enemy, wishing to shoot down an American plane.

I have seen those who vote for this political party wear t-shirts with the image of Che Guevara, a Marxist revolutionary and mass murderer.

I have seen the Communist Party USA over the decades endorse and throw their support behind a certain political party.

I have seen photographs and videos of the Klu Klux Klan marching in support of this political party but have never seen their organization supporting this political party’s opposition. There will be individuals who will point out David Duke’s support for certain opposition candidates, but they will fail to point out that their support is unwanted and that the opposition party denouncing this individual.

I have seen cities where this certain political party has kept power and control for decades, where due to this party’s ideology, poverty and crime run rampant.

I have seen this political party now support laws in California that support pedophiles.

This political party is the Democrat Party, and not only do I see it, but millions of Americans see the same thing.

Concerning the article from Atlantic magazine, if the anonymous sources are real, then I call them cowards. Why? Every military member takes an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. If there are officers of flag rank who view President Donald Trump as a severe danger to the Nation and to the Constitution, it is their sworn duty to come out and say so. Not hide behind the press. If you cannot stand up and state your case, provide proof, risk your career and status, if you cannot fulfill your oath to the Constitution, than all of you are cowards and perfumed princes and princesses who do not deserve the honor of leading men and women into combat.

Yes. I remember all too well, and I never went to Viet Nam. I spent my time in S. Korea. Just wearing the uniform was enough to trigger the sick bastards.

I’ve never been fond of Democrats my entire life, but that era cinched it, and turned my disgust into hatred for the damned fools.

Got a 3 month early out in September ‘72 to go back to finish college. When I showed up at CSUS with short hair and clean shave I got a lot of stares but very little direct disrespect. Although I did get my share of harrassment at SFO in ‘69 and ‘70.
