The Treasury Department and IRS said Monday they sent out the fifth batch of monthly child tax credit payments, disbursing more than $15 billion in payments to families that include about 61 million children.
The agencies said they have sent out a total of about $77 billion in monthly payments since the program began in July. Families are eligible for payments of up to $300 per month for children under age 6, and up to $250 per month for children ages 6 to 17.
The monthly child tax credit payments came about as a result of the coronavirus relief law President Biden enacted earlier this year. The relief law also increased the amount of the credit and made the credit fully available to the lowest-income families.

I put the cash directly into an account for my kids for the future. How many parents can say that. Most I see are buying booze and scratch offs.
I assume illegals get this and it includes their children residing in Haiti and El Salvador and China and...etc.?
Most of the public has no clue that this is one of the causes of rising prices. They’re not even capable of understanding it if it’s explained in simple terms.
The government can add dollars to those already in circulation. It is, in effect, telling the recipients “Here’s some dollars that you didn’t earn. Take them and go buy things in the market place. Now you can afford to buy things, just like those people who did actually earn their money.” “Those people will be able to afford less, because you’re there competing for the same goods with the money we gave you.”

I detest the people I work with who get grifter monies but, smile when I consider how their lives will remain unremarkable forever.
I’m chucking my job after 5 years and going build a couple companies.
I can out work and outbuild everyone else anyway...
Why can’t they send me the 16k refund I am due???

I do think they wonder at all. They know what they are doing.
My daughter turned 18 but is a senior in High School. I wonder if we will still get it.
Note: to be eligible to receive the $300 monthly checks, you do not need to be an American citizen.
You only need to have a dependent child.
