A tech conference for women and non-binary workers in the field last week was overrun by men, where an organizer said some unwelcome guests falsely claimed to be "non-binary" to make it in. And some onlookers watched the ensuing outcry unfold with amusement and a lack of sympathy.
"You have to admit it's pretty funny watching a dude yelling about dudes being dudes," said "Outnumbered" guest Ben Ferguson on Wednesday.
Indeed, Cullen White, Chief Impact Officer of the group that organized the seminar, AnitaB, chastised attendees for having "lied" about their gender.

A conference to hire just women?! Okay, fair is fair, let's have a conference to hire just men.
And one for African-Americans? Sure, let's have one for White Americans as well.
Too me, that is always the litmus test, swap out another group and if it is wrong, then it is always wrong.
Not all heroes wear capes
Way I look at it is if it’s sexist to have a men’s only, then it’s sexist for an all female whatever.
I agree that all this gender is what I think i am is a pile of horse $h!t
I disagree, the sanity of emphasizing the problem is making it clear that the gender issue is BS & gender is limited between 2 sexes that exist, male & female. Everything else is just plain nonsense & should be treated as such.
Ridicule of the left’s stupidity is a powerful weapon.
I’m hoping we’ve reached peak insanity and it will topple over on its own. And take the left-wing forces promoting it along with it.
No wonder Don Corleone said women were “unserious.”
An admission we have been lying to congress, the press, and the public.
Why is there a “woman’s” tech conference? I never met a woman that code her way out of a wet paper bag. I spent most of my career as an consultant doing software engineering. My business was based on the ability to do things regular employees could not do, so I saw any business dominated by women and affirmative action hires as a gold mine. Over the years I saw some of the most silly efforts to increase performance of employees, some of which included specialized training for women and minorities only. While that didn’t affect me, I saw the results among white male employees. They were often starved of professional development opportunities. Despite that, they were far more capable than affirmative action and female hires. Oftentimes there was a deliberate effort to get rid of the best employees. That happens when you have incompetents in management that are threatened by people who actually knew what they were doing.
Those who understand binary.
Those who don't.
And those who mistakenly believe non-binary is a thing.
I think that's one of the ways the court system works.
They wait on issues that aren't clear until the forces of society play out, the overall consequences of a new technology or a new policy or a new societal trend distill and clarify.
There's a New Yorker cartoon I've always loved. It shows an older couple sitting in their living room. The husband looks concerned and a little depressed. The wife is cheerfully saying, "Don't worry Howard, the big questions are multiple choice."
That line struck me as true, and interesting. Society seems to operate in such a way as to clarify ambiguities and reduce them to choices, and then to reduce the number of choices by grouping them into categories.
The judicial system moves slowly, waiting for those categories to become well defined, and the consequences of the different choices to become clear.
But I agree with your sentiment. All the decades of promoting IT to girls has had little impact on increasing the number of young women who want it bad enough to do the research on their own and, if going through formal training, get the hard core training like computer science degrees from colleges that require things like building your own pre-compiler from scratch.
To be fair, the few women I've seen do well as code jockeys turned out to be the best at communicating with functional users. For whatever reason they were better than most men at the social skills programmers need when we have to look up from our screens. But again, for whatever reason they're very few.
They forgot to dye their hair blue.
Wait! Did he just assume their gender????
Why......HOW DARE HE!!!!!
All claims of being “non binary” are false. There are no true claims, because no one is “non binary.”
It’s impossible to “lie about being ‘non binary’ “ because no one can be non binary.
LOL, they’re dominating everything that was once women only - especially women’s sports.
Looking forward to the infiltration into tennis.
Aren't we told we must accept how people identify? Who are we to judge? If somebody says they are "non-binary," then the liberal codebook says that must be good enough.
How judgmental of the people who tell us we must not be judgmental of others.
