GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley again slammed former President Trump for his comments mocking her deployed husband, saying a “rogue golf ball” is the closest the former president has ever come to combat.
“The closest Donald Trump has ever come to harm’s way is a rogue golf ball hitting his cart. It’s not surprising that he doesn’t understand the sacrifices made by those in uniform,” Haley wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Trump took aim at Haley’s husband, who was deployed to Africa in June with the South Carolina Army National Guard, for not being on the campaign trail with Haley at a Saturday rally in South Carolina.

Off topic, is anyone else find Tulsi Gabbard’s pretentious regarding her military service? You’d think she was Audie Murphy, the way she talks about herself.

The closest Nikki Haley has been to combat is the board room of a defense contractor.
He wasn’t mocking her husband, he was mocking HER for cheating on her husband when he was deployed.
Melania does not hit the campaign trail with Donald now, did not before. I couldn’t care any less that her focus is on other, albeit very important, relevant matters. I don’t know if you’ve lived under a rock or what but since 2015 when he decided to run and then beat Hillary in 2016, their patterns re: plying the political trade have been very clear. Great as his wife and First Lady, involved as Mother to their son Baron, making their Florida home great and their WH home great and attending official functions in her official role.
I recall that some on the left mocked Trump/Melania because she wasn’t on the campaign trial with Trump during her mother’s final days and death. I wonder if that’s why Trump blabbed about Haley’s husband, perhaps not even knowing he’s in the military.
As I see it, Donald Trump has been in combat every day since he declared his candidacy in 2016. He has battled like a NINJA warrior against media, his own party, saboteurs and nobodies like Nikki…..HE IS STILL STANDING

The classy thing to do would have been to thank MAJ Haley for his service.
With that said, Haley was wrong to bring up President Trump and combat. At the vert least, serving tells us something about a person.
And, she did so while he was deployed. 😠
Trump never heard the end of it about where was Melania. He had to hear all kinds of made up garbage and some of it from RDS supporters about how he spent his time with Alina Habba, one of his lawyers. It was all lies and meant to smear him.
Nikki deserves whatever she gets and she has no room to be upset.
I can’t stand these people.
That said, President Trump has a history of inappropriate comments regarding military personnel. His feud with McCain eventually led to him saying about McCain “He’s not a war hero, he’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured, okay? I hate to tell you.”
You don’t need to think someone is a war here to honor their service.
Guarantee President Trump would have never said that if VADM Stockdale or Jerimiah Denton were alive.
Trump’s the first prez we had in a while that didn’t think up reasons for our military to be deployed.
