Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claimed on Monday that Republican Donald Trump’s campaign team asked him to consider being the former president’s running mate. A Trump senior advisor has since denied the claim.
In an X post on Monday, Kennedy asserted that Trump’s “emissaries” approached him to serve in the position, which he then “respectfully declined.” Kennedy did not elaborate further on who these emissaries were or what role they played in the campaign.” The X post came as a response to Trump calling Kennedy an “ultra-left radical.”
“President Trump calls me an ultra-left radical. I’m soooo liberal that his emissaries asked me to be his VP. I respectfully declined the offer,” Kennedy wrote, “I am against President Trump, and President Biden can’t win.”
Chris LaCivita, a Republican strategist in a senior advisory role with the Trump campaign, countered Kennedy’s claim over X, dismissing him as a “leftie loonie” who would never be considered for the ticket.

Both could be true: someone could have approached the Kennedy campaign with the offer, but in a way that would allow the Trump campaign plausible deniability—or actual deniability, if the someone didn’t have the authority to make the offer.

Very possible. It's also possible that some Trump folks discussed the matter with RFKJr folks that wasn't necessarily an official offer, but keeping talks open about future possibilities as a way to feel each other out. And it's very possible that RFKJr just lied his butt off. Any of them are possibilities.
Jr. is a Kennedy; that is for sure.
But I’d have to say on the whole, he makes more sense than any living democrat.
Trump should attempt to get every vote he can for himself and to campaign in such a way that anyone not voting for Trump will vote for Kennedy.

personally, i wouldn’t be opposed to it.
we know Trump and JFK Jr were good friends, so Trump knows the family.
we know both men want the best for the country, which cannot be said about those on the left.
and, of course, the kennedy name running with Trump would make the libs lose it... always a bonus.
my concern would be some of RKF’s more left leaning ideas.

Ronald Reagan was an FDR Democrat in a prior life. And I remember when he selected GH Bush as his VP - Bush did a 180 degree change in his stance on abortion although I doubt Bush had an actual change of heart.
