I just saw a note on FNC that Cuba has condemned the attacks and pledged support. How about that?

Nick, I understand your direction here, but really, nothing about this entire episode can even remotely be termed "fun." If there was anyway . . .
anyway I could turn back the clock and ground those planes, it would already be done.
Now, I've criticized the French as much as anyone---especially in my classes. But don't forget that at one time France alone conquered Europe from Spain to Russia, and had England on the ropes. It is THAT France that we now need at our side, not the appeasers of 1935.

As for snails, never tried 'em. Snails taste like Grass - But when dipped in a lightly garlic laced clarified butter - They taste like grass.

Bush plays a good head game. He does, indeed, Nick. He is also playing a head game with the press. I am quite satisfied with their confusion.
I note that Howard Fineman is now scrambling to get on board, calling him "George the dragon-slayer." And he wasn't being funny, he was sincere.
If it weren't for the tragedy and the seriousness of the future action this would be quite enjoyable.

Three days ago, France was condemning our military action and said that we should try diplomatic options first. The French flip-flop as bad as Bubba Xlinton. If they think that the enemy has the upper hand, they'll turn on us in a second. I wouldn't trust them for nothing and a military operation is a lot better off if the French stay home.

To La France and España :
Merci
Gracias
To Deutschland and Italia:
Die Serie verläßt die Station.
Il treno sta lasciando la stazione.

France may have a heart, but France also has many nuclear reactors. I'm sure the thought of a large airliner hitting one of those reactors must put fear in the hearts of all Frenchmen. They must decide if they will attempt to pacify the terrorists or fight them. It seems they have decided to stand and fight. Viva la France!

Finally.... I've seen several posts on different threads suggesting boycotting german cars and the solution is always another foreign car. Whats wrong with people in this country, aren't American products good enough for them?
Our industrial base has been devastated by imports, and if this war goes for a long time, look for countries that produce war-related materials that we don't to use that as leverage to dictate our actions. Allies or not, there are at least a half dozen countries that could stop selling critical manufactured goods to us and cripple our economy.

But they all know that at least one of them would stab the rest in the back to be Uncle Sam's Favorite Friend as we head into the 21st century. Do you have connections or were you born with that wonderful insight?
Bush plays a good head game.
Not bad for the village idiot.

As long as they send the Legion, the rest can stay home. The Legion is the only thing we want.

I think French and German support is tenuous. I think we can count on their support for intelligence and law enforcemnt efforts, but I do not want them on the battlefield with us. There were reports that French army officers gave information to the serbs during the balkans crisis that may have resulted in the downing of the stealth bomber. Germany's interests are linked to France's. Germany's and France's government have anti-American elements. Joska Fischer and perhaps Schroeder himself have had radical leftist pasts. I think they will back out if things get too nasty. I know the majority of German people back us up and they feel really bad about what has happened, but they can stay home. The only countries I want in battle is the UK and Australia.
