The US holds all the face cards and the aces. All we need to do is play them in the right order.

Shall we organize a boycott of Chrysler? Why not? They may well be cut loose to die by Mercedes anyway. We need to boycott Mercedes proper, Audi, VW, and BMW as well.

I agree with you although my Farside humor is kicking in on this thread.

Is it really in good taste to redicule an ally who is standing beside us? NO!!! But unfortunately we cannot control the tongues of those who post here. They dishonor their host JimRob when they bash allies like this, and most of us at FR who feel it is a time to be prudent, to realize that this is the most active and frequented political site on the internet and we should realize that what we write is seen by many.
I'm not happy that there are SOME who take no responsibility for their words. SOME who would incite hate, and discord. Unfortunately it has always been the case. JimRob has asked us to NOT do this, but some are ungracious guests and are ignoring his requests. He has tried to explain this in his "Loose lips sink ships" post. Maybe someone could link it here again. Maybe some on this very thread will go read it and "FINALLY" get it!!
Thanks for saying what so many of us are feeling about any kind of disruptor.
People, take it to private e-mail with your like minded friends. But realize that we need all the allies that we can get. That there have been negative posts here in the past that have made their way to major publications. AND THE LIBERAL PRESS WILL ALWAYS ACCENT THE NEGATIVE FROM CONSERVATIVES IF THEY HAVE A CHANCE.
In fact, I wouldn't doubt if some of these negative comments are intentional. For just that purpose. Don't fall into the "trap" of spouting simular remarks and expousing irrational hatred by association with people who are doing us all a disservice by their words here. Please read JimRobs post. Thanks!

When did France surrender and Chirac escape to America? That is the only reason France would pledge support for us.

RE #53 They also have suffered Arab terrorism longer than America did. France have a large Arab population most of whom are Algerians. Algerians have notoriety as tough Jihadist in anti-Soviet Afghan war. French government do not want Agerians to go into Jihad mood. All those teenage ethnic Algerian gangs can turn into suicide bombers. They may have to make a dent early. Of course, French invovement in this American campaign could backfire. But I suppose they decided that this is the risk worth taking.

This heartwarming < /sarcasm> French support reminds me of that Harold Ramis quote from Stripes:
When I was a kid, my father told me, "Never hit anyone in anger, unless you're absolutely sure you can get away with it." I don't know what kind of soldier I'm gonna make, but I want you guys to know that if we ever get into really heavy combat... I'll be right behind you guys. Every step of the way.

Remember who gave us the statue of liberty, and it's still standing proud.

"When it comes to punishing this murderous folly, France will be at the side of the United States." This very much shakes my world view. France with a bigger pair hanging than the Germans? I have to now reconsider other aspects of my education. France showing more gumption than Italy I could deal with -- Italy has managed to end up on the losing side of some wars twice. They have to know how rotten they are at this war thing. But Germany? And they used to have women swimmers that looked more like men than our athletes did. Lord, it is a new world.

I visited Spain this summer. They love Americans. In fact, they have more people from America visit them than come from any other nation in Europe. In Barcelona there is a statue of Christopher Columbus pointing to the west. They are very proud of the role they played in the discovery of our continent. I'm glad they are going to help us.

You think the bombs that "accidentally" fell on the French embassy the last time they didn't support a retaliation had anything to do with it?
