Yes and no. For a muslim, the Quran carries no true authority in other than the Arabic. Some of the English language versions have been sanitized (somewhat) for Western consumption.
That's an excellent list you provided of links.
Liberals have a tendency to downplay the wrongdoings of one side and greatly exaggerate the actions of the other to make them equivalent (just like how they equivalate glowsticks & leashes to Saddam's throwing people feet first in a plastic shredder). Don't play the game. The most violent thing the representative of Christianity, Jesus, ever did was knock over a few tables. To be like Mohammed is to be like Bin Laden, only pedophilic, no? Don't play the game.
No your quotes are not accurate. I am a muslim and i have memorized a large part of the Quran. your quotes are not right. Islam IS a religion of peace, i dont know what your talking about.
cHRISTIANS AND jEWS WERE TREATED "repectfully" EARLY ON while mohammed was weak after his army grew and they reject his lies they became the enemy forever. They are infidels of the first order.
5.17. Surely, in disbelief are they who say that Allâh is the Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary) . Say (O Muhammad ): "Who then has the least power against Allâh, if He were to destroy the Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary), his mother, and all those who are on the earth together?" And to Allâh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them. He creates what He wills. And Allâh is Able to do all things.
Yikes! My Eyes!!
Paragraphs are your friend.
BS. Islam, The Cult of Death
Read this: http://fruitofislam.com/plain_truth_about_islam.htm
A whole bunch of them are nothing more than "convenient lies" concocted in the early days to clarify inheritance rights, e.g. to the Prophet's property, his religious pre-eminence, or even to leadership of Islam.
Some of the hadiths have meaning ONLY to Shia. Within the framework of Sunni approaches to Islam, these things seem to be disconnected from anything anyone should worry about.
It's my impression Mohammad found an old Torah buried in the desert in the vicinity of Mecca. It "differed" in some respects from those with which we are more familiar, but the state of Judaism at the time was such that this should be expected (it was the Dark Ages, the economy was in the toilet, plague had reduced populations substantially, civilization was gone, etc.)
Best anyone can tell by reading through the Koran Mohammad never once was provided an intact copy of a single Gospel story ~ clearly he had bits and pieces, but not the whole thing and certainly nothing like our modern "New Testament".
Under the circumstances whoever this religious reformer was he did a pretty good job pulling together a coherent religion out of almost total chaos.
I imagine it was a big surprise to the early Moslems to discover that the folks in Damascus actually had intact Torahs and Testaments. Since the Koran wasn't written down until that contact had been made, there's always been serious questions about just how much Gnostic beliefs influenced it (given, of course, that Damascus had Gnostic sources available for review, and probably even some Gnostics).
BTW, Moslems generally do not get into such critical examination of Islam because that usually ends up getting you killed! Christians used to be that way, but Jews have been in a big argument about it all for a very long time. Someday Islam will have it's own "Reformation". My guess is that such an event is now underway in Baghdad's newspapers!
Fight until you win great so what.
So that was you leading the march of Muslims protesting the corruption of your religion by OBL after 9/11? Or did was that you leading the march protesting all the terrorist acts in the name of Islam for the last 30 years. Wait, there was no protest! Your silence tells me everything I need to know about Islam.
Welcome to Freerepublic.
You are a brave muslim.
WRONG.. MoMo was illiterate..
You seemed to have read quran thoroughly but failed to understand it. Everything you have pin pointed out is spoken out of context. It can be easily refuted. For example, "Quran tells Muslims to kill the disbelievers wherever they find them (Q. 2:191)," If you took this quote to proclaim that Islam teaches violence and hatered, then I am sorry to say that you have been an ingnorant. This quote is talking about a specific battlefield. Obivioulsy, any commander or general will tell his soldiers to kill the enemies in the field. "Disbelivers" in this quote are those people fighting the people who where driven out of their homes, deprived of thier privilages to pratice their business in their homeland along with beleiving in one God. Let's suppose you were kicked out of your city for beleiving in such and such religion and your home was raided and destroyed completely, what would you do? Are you not oppressed then? Don't you have the right to go back and posses your property again? And if you happen to be on the side of those who were kicked like you were, wouldn't it be justified to kill those who are attacking you without just reason?
"Don't you have the right to go back and posses your property again?"
What 'property' would that be?
NYC was never Muslim property, neither was flight 93 or the Pentagon.
Israel, despite Islamic lies, was NEVER 'muslim property'.
Remember, the Jews lived there LONG before the Arabs showed up.
"And if you happen to be on the side of those who were kicked like you were, wouldn't it be justified to kill those who are attacking you without just reason?"
They attacked us first you idiot troll.
Found a troll who slipped in under the radar.
Read the rest of his post and it becomes more than apparent "CaptainAF' is an idiot troll.
BTW, where is JoJo anyway?
:)
Saw him the other day.
Think he's been busy.
