We need the stewardship of 5,000 Free Republic members to insure the continuation of the Free Republic Life Form!
Jim Robinson said in yesterday's post: "My projections are that our regular monthly expenses for next year will be running in the neighborhood of $22,000 per month, or approximately $264,000 total for the year. This means we will need to raise approximately $66,000 per quarter."
If 5,000 Free Republic members who believe in paying their own way and that no free lunch ever exists, pledge $5/month. Jim's goals and needs will be quickly surpassed!
5,000 good stewards of Free Republic pledging $5/month will total $75,000 per quarter. That would allow Jim/John a little breathing room!
Many of us donate more per month than that. So please don't reduce your donation. We just need 5,000 regular pledgers to make things easier for Jim.
Are there 5,000 good Stewards out there who can afford $5/month to keep alive the Free Republic Life Form?
One way to afford this is to cancel your subscription to your left wing fish wrap or bird cage liner. Donate half of that monthly cost to your favorite charity and the rest to Free Republic. If you do this, you remove your money from the enemies of America and invest it with the friends of America, Free Republic! That would be a double winner for America!
Become one of the 5,000 Freepers who believe that there is no Free Republic lunch and that only parasites want something for free! Sign up for $5/month on a monthly auto payment plan!

How about this:
- 15,000 Good Freepers donating 5 a quarter. That is $75,000.
- Or, 7,500 Good Freepers in for 10 a quarter.
- Or, 2,500 Good Freepers in for 30 a quarter.
- How about 500 Good Freepers in for 150 a quarter?
- Or 100 good freepers in for 750 a quarter?
- Better: 20 good freepers in for 3750 a quarter.
- No, how about 5 good freepers in for 15,000 a quarter.
- Maybe 1 good freeper in for 75,000 a quarter.
- Lets try .25 good freepers in for 300,000 a quarter.
- How about .001 good freepers in for 75,000,000 a quarter?

Re do your math Laz. 5000 X $5/month = $25,000 X 3 months = $75,000 per quarter or $300,000/year!

I'm so confused I don't know whether to scratch my watch or wind my backside.
To: Romulus
In my culture, there are three months in a quarter. Well sir, since your time there have been numerous changes to the western calendar. If I'm not mistaken the last change occurred in 1582 when Pope Gregory XIII decreed a modification to the Julian calendar, a long time ago, certaily, but still way past the glory days of your Roman Republican Calendar.

5 * 5000 * 3 = 75,000Don't try and use all your legal mumbo-jumbo on ME, mister!
5 dollars * 5000 freepers * 3 quarters DIVIDED BY 4 NICKELS IN A QUARTER = 18,750 nickels!!! FAR below JimRobs needs!
To: harrowup
In my culture, there are two sides to a quarter. In my culture, there are two sides to a story.
Ergo, you can buy a story for a quarter.
To: Grampa Dave
Re do your math Laz. 5000 X $5/month = $25,000 X 3 months = $75,000 per quarter or $300,000/year!You can try your Jedi Mind Trick on someone else, mister. Those aren't the 'droids I'm looking for! ;^)
To: LJLucido
Thanks, for your generous monthly donation! You have the secret re a monthly donation. Arrive at a monthly amount that you can afford and not really miss or notice. Then donate it on automatic basis. After the first two months, it is never noticed on our end. However, it can help Free Republic to thrive.
We just need 5,000 Freepers donating on a regular basis with $5 or more to help Jim do better things!
To: harrowup
Three sides to a quarter, you forgot the edge. HA!

In my culture, there are 15 minutes to a quarter.

Buzzz!!!!!!!
Wrong answer, there are three sides to a quarter. Front, back and edge.
Now, try which side of a turkey has the most feathers?
To: Grampa Dave
I think this is a great idea, I would like to have a snail mail address though. If you know the address could you post it for all of us who use money orders or checks?? TY
To: Grampa Dave
Well, starting either this month or next, I'll be setting up a monthly donation - I finally got a credit card (been avoiding it for years, but it seems now that you can't do anything without one, which pisses me off, but that's a whole different topic)...
In addition, I am currently working on a self-funded, volunteer project, which hopefully when it's completed in the early spring will raise some EXTRA money for FR (which JimRob can use in any manner he sees fit...)
To: Grampa Dave
I just gave an early Christmas Present to myself and donated via credit card.
Folks who are looking for the link to the Credit Card donation form should go to the main free republic page http://www.freerepublic.com and scrool way toward the bottom of the page and click on the link.
Otherwise you could just go to

To: Grampa Dave
I've finally donated on an automatic monthly basis. I've bitched and moaned and nitpicked about the things that have irked me on FreeRepublic.
Well, last nite I came to a decision. Is FreeRepublic worth a contribution?
Like I told Jim last nite, I've learned more in the last 3 yrs, than I could have ever bought at any university.
Yes, its worth every penny I can give it.

Uh, Laz, in my culture there are 5 nickels in a quarter.(Hands on hips) What, you don't believe in multiculturism??? Besides, missy: I had the right intent, therefore the results are not important.
And thusly it is, in The Liberal Way.
To: harrowup
In my culture, there are two sides to a quarter. Well, in my counterculture there are for people in a quartet, so there! (I'm still a bit confused though when a quartet is called something like Dave Brubeck Quartet. Does that mean Dave Brubeck and four others, or Dave Brubeck and three others?)
