Stop avoiding my questions and answer them. Then, I might give a crap about your worthless opinions.

You started your tirade by stating that NFL teams won't draft Nebraska players. You can't name one. So instead of being mature about it and admitting you made a false statement, you avoid it like a whiny little toddler.

Get some character, then I might listen to your drivel.

I would also guess 75-80% of Nebraska students couldn't get into Stanford,UVA, or Michigan.

What are you high? We are talking college athletics. There are only a few major schools were the student athletes are really student-athletes and are treated like everyone else, notably the service academies.

Michigan? Are you for real? The thugs on their football and basketball teams. Give me strength. At Michigan, the guys on the football and basketball teams are not the same as the regualr students when it comes to grades, that is why their teams are so good.

And your lack of objectivity prevents you from seeing that when you use someone for a comparison, you open yourself up for criticism. Flutie was criticised for size, not stats or results. Crouch is a very good college running back that throws a lot of interceptions. When the Huskers needed him to step up and win games with his arm, he threw picks. Crouch will not play QB in the NFL. He may not be able to play QB in the CFL or WLAF. The Heisman trophy is for THE BEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYER IN THE COUNTRY. Crouch is not even the best QB, how can he be the best overall player? Awarding the Heisman to Crouch is a complete joke. My favorite NFL QB is Kurt Warner. He wasn't even drafted and played for the arena league and WLAF before the Rams. Warner played QB for Northern Iowa. Imagine if he had been a 3 year starter there and had incredible stats for passing. You would be here saying that because he played for a no-name school that he wouldn't be in contention for the Heisman just like you pooh-pooh Carr.

Gibbs -- ROTFLOL! Don't know only scoring 16 points doesn't seem to much of a point total against the defense! Think I will stick with Stoops/Venerables and the rest since we are 10-2 and going bowling! Hard to get up for a team that only won three games! BTW -- where is Okie State going for their bowl?

44-20 OU. The Heisman curse. How often does the Heisman winners team go on to win their bowl game? (Hey, I'm reaching...;-)

Just once in my life I thought I'd seen a situation in which an amateur version of a sport had outgrown the pro version, and that wsa during the final five or six years in which Paul Bear Bryant was coaching at Alabama. They'd developed a passing game keyed to the action of the wishbone and it was absolutely impossible to tell what was coming off on a given play. Any time anybody ever lined up with nine or ten men on the line of scrimmage the way the Florida teams used to do against the Okies, it was an automatic seven points.

No., I'm talking about admissions for walk-ons. They don't get a schlarship, but are stashed away till one opens up. A Nebraska player getting a 3.75 is not equal to a Stanford player getting a 2.75. You are delusional if you think Nebraska is anything close to Big Ten or Pac 10 schools. And Miami will drill your ass. What a f-ing joke you are.

You need to lighten up a bit, little guy.

A good discussion thread, not helped by your moronic comments...

Interesting note - I just heard that *36 PERCENT* of the possible voters for the Hesiman did NOT vote. Disgusting. If they don't vote - they shouild revoke that privilege.

Just you wait, we will probally see an attempt to divine the wishes of those who didn't vote. Why do I feel like this is a year ago?

Hey, you have a point. Maybe they tried to vote but could not figure out the ballot.

Uh oh...

bowl game bump
maybe the downtown athletic club should wait till after the bowl games are played to award the heisman. crouch has quite a performance to live up to after harrington embarrassed the team that crouch couldn't beat.

Hey, Herrington had a great game and he's my number two pick for the Heisman. If Nebraska beats Miami then Oregon has a claim for the number one spot. Let's see what kind of game Crouch has against the Canes. Play-offs next year!

Ouch! Well Nebraska let down my Ducks in the Rose Bowl but that's OK. Even though I think the Ducks would have been a better matchup, I don't think anyone was gonna beat this years Hurricanes. I still think Carr, Grossman, or Harrington deserved the Heisman more than Crouch.
